So… its just 2.95 for portal?
HL2 is free. everything else is N/A

    • +1

      I’m assuming it’s N/A separately…?

    • +5

It seems you may actually be right…
"Half-Life 2 now includes the complete Episode One and Episode Two expansions along with the base game. They’re accessible from the main menu, and you will automatically advance to the next expansion after completing each one." - Valve.

    • +1

      Yeah basically paying for Portal.

    • May as well wait for a Portal sale instead tbh.

I feel like this needs to be pointed out.
HL2 and it's episodes are free, TF2 has been for basically forever.
This "bundle" is in fact Portal for $2.95. Neg voting for "Issue with product"

Side note: Portal 1 & 2 bundle regularly cost less than this

      • -6

The time and effort you spent thinking of that and typing it costs more than you would’ve saved lol

        • +5

Neg is not personal. Just pointing out facts for anyone considering

      • +2

Thanks, I already have Portal, saves me checking.

      • TF2 is not free, it's a non premium account with limitations. This is currently cheaper than spending $5 USD in the TF2 store to unlock a premium account, as well as Portal 1 bundled in. This is a bargain, you are paying less for more.

    • You'll also get a "premium" TF2 account and a TF2 hat for what it's worth. The hat is whatever, but being chat-restricted on a F2P account is a bit of a bummer.

      • You have to spend $5 USD on the TF2 store to unlock text and voice chat on a F2P account.

        • Yes, or buy the Orange Box, both of which are explicitly said in the link lol

        • …or you could spend $2.95 AUD and get Portal 1 included for free. Seems like a bargain to me.

  • weird, i cannot find this via search in the steam launcher. turns out i have most of it anyway

    How is tf2 these days?

I quite around the introduction of the mann co keys era

    • +3

      Still fun tbh

Is there still 247 internode 2fort server?

        • +1

Possibly there is, and the same regulars are there 14 years later

        • +1

Good times. Many attempts accidentally killing myself trying to rocket jump up to the enemy side

@carboncider: Around the time I stopped , animated sprays became a thing, used to be so many lewd/hentai sprays and everyone would kind of stop and stare for ages, and I would just be back stabbing as spy while they were distracted lol

Community is still very much alive and well, even more so now than in the past imo

Haven't jumped into a match in a few months but the bot situation is mostly dealt with

Still only getting seasonal content ie. Christmas and Halloween maps, no actual new content like Jungle Inferno but I think most of the player base has already accepted this

      7/7 can still recommend

Half Life came out in the 20th century, Half Life 2 in the 21st century, so we should be looking at the 22nd century for the 3rd installment.

So play this game and feel free not to rush and take your time with it.

  • Wonder if it will be cheaper if we redeem HL2 for free, wait for it to be paid again, then it will deduct a portion of the cost off this bundle, is that how steam works?

    • +2

Nah, it’s a package, not a bundle. Bundle works like how you suggest here, you don’t pay as much if you already own games. Package means you buy it as is, whole package, no extra savings.

Portal has been free before though, if you’ve waited this long just wait again for that.

      • Ah ok makes sense, thanks!

  • I bought an orange box from Con the Fruiterer just a coupla days ago. Bastard ripped me off again! Ah they're bewdiful so doesn't madda.

I bought a cd version of the orange box at an op shop a while back, didnt have my reading glasses on at the time so failed to see the steam requirement on the back cover. Naturally the code had been redeemed. Worst dollar spend ever.

    • I'd pay more that a dollar for the retail version, key or no key. That would be a bargain to me.

      • Yeah box and disc is worth something for a collector I suppose, just annoying when boxed retail versions are not transferrable.
