Anyone know how much better this is over a v10? Our v10 is showing its age despite getting the dyson premium service earlier this year.

They have disabled the cell balancing in your battery (which should give them A HUGE fine by the ACCC). One of your cells are bringing the others down.
Our of all the "Dead Dyson" batteries I've pulled apart…none of them are dead..just out of balance. Once balanced..like new.

For use in a Dyson… reasonably difficult. Just buy a drill adapter or BMS from Ali Express. Don't support Dyson.
For using the cells in anything else…very easy…smash it open..charge them up.

I'm torn between a bagged vacum like a Miele for the suction. With kids and dog and cat in worried this might not be enough. How have you found it?
So we have 14 cats INDOORS at the moment, it's a whole situation, don't ask. The little bit of carpet we have to deal with is low-pile but I only vac that small hallway once a week. I'd says it's around 2m square surface area so not large at all, also not square. Takes all but 2 - 4 minutes to get it back to new lookin' carpet on Eco mode (atleast for a v15). :-)
I am genuinely amazed how well they work. I came from a Viomi A9 that didn't last 6 months so I bit the bullet on something with warranty and genuinely works well. Bit upset I only got it 1 - 2 months ago, paid more than this gen5.. 😪

Yes
Some say the v15 does the same job, if not better.
You just get some extra featutes. Even the extra suction doesn't make a difference between the two.
Highly recommended at this price. Also you can use some older Dyson attachments on it.
We have hardwood floors and a dog, the green light is really handy and we find the house significantly less dusty. Also does a good job on carpets compared to our v8.
The dust particle sensor is a bit of a gimmick though.

Good deal! Looks like this is the model with the purple stick - the stick seperates to reveal a shorter crevice tool. This is so convenient when vacuuming, The gen5 model with gold stick does not separate.
Was hoping the Complete version would go on sale on eBay, the stand and extra attachments are great.
