Epic Games gives the thumbs up to Archive.org copies of Unreal Gold and Unreal Tournament GOTY, free to download for all

OldUnreal Unreal Gold installer

We currently do not have permission to host the full game on oldunreal.com. Instead, we are allowed to host this installer, which will download the original disc image for Unreal Gold from archive.org, extract the disc contents into a folder of your choice, and then install the latest public OldUnreal patch. Enjoy!

Note: Our installer supports Windows 7 and later. We are working on installers for Linux and macOS.

      Epic gave the community its blessings to keep these games patched up… you'll be able to find the current servers out there.

      I installed my GOG version of UT and the latest community patch at the time and had no issues getting online. The only issue were my skills. I suppose reflexes change after 20yrs+.

    The enemy AI made by Steve Polge on the original Unreal (Gold) and Unreal Tournament are still something to behold, especially for when they were made.

      Unfortunately Epic Games too focussed flogging loot crates to tweens in Fortnite. They basically killed UT4 development due to this. Wish they’d just sell on the IP if they aren’t going to do anything with it

    I liked the level where your in space on an asteroid, and there are like two towers on opposite sides of it, had great times on that level.

    Nice. Both games installed and ran fine under Windows 10 64-bit with no need of a patcher. All i did was click on the setup executable and it installed and ran fine. So the setup installers for both games must be 32-bit compatible and also the game code.

    UT2004 had its 20th anniversary earlier this year… would be sweet if Epic gave the community its blessings to keep that game alive too.
