    Side-by-side? Am I insane?

    • +2

Yes it is. And yes, probably.

        thank you, just checking

    Nice find! Ty

  • Has anyone got any experience with this brand?
What will be the warranty on this one?

Just realised, the whole left section is freezer and right section is the main fridge. Never seen this design before.

.. have your ever shopped for a fridge before?

Anyway, Hisense have become a great brand, always great for the price too. They started out selling decent quality products, initially TVs, for cheap to establish themselves before drastically upping the price and quality. Haier likely doing the same thing, since the products they sell in China are top notch (average quality but cheap here).

Hisense are well established now, very reliable, and have shown they can be very innovative. I daresay they may be becoming the Samsung of China, minus heavy industry

      • initially TVs

Pity about the nerfed specs for the models they sell here vs in the US for some reason.

      • The last one we bought was around 10yrs ago and then we had a small family so didn't really look at large capacity ones.

  • That's surprisingly good energy efficiency.

  • Does Costco take away my old fridge?
If yes, is it included in the new fridge purchase price or for an extra charge?

  • Who actually keeps their fridge that neat and tidy? 😊

the all important question is will you be able to fit a costco pizza box in fridge section of this?

I purchased this in July as a second fridge as my other one didn't seem efficient. Wow, what a difference, didn't realise my old one was using so much power. I paid $200 more than this, it's a brilliant price. Hasn't skipped a beat, very happy with my purchase. If it had an ice maker and was white I would have swapped it as my main fridge.

The delivery company contacts you and asks you to pick a date for delivery. Once that's locked in you get a text either the night before or on the day giving you an approx. time. Delivery guys were lovely, couldn't fault them, and they took away all the packing as well. No they don't take your fridge.

    • Hows the width of the fridge section? I currently have a standard top mount fridge which is on its way out; like the idea of the side by side but just concerned about not having enough width to fit wider items.

      • +1

The width of the fridge on the inside is 44.5cm. To imagine the size you could fit a slat of corona beers on the shelf easily. I've got a 6 pack on one shelf and could easily fit another 3.
I purchased these from KMart for the freezer $10 each, they fit perfectly on the freezer shelves. They come with lids but I don't use the lids. https://www.kmart.com.au/product/11l-smooth-and-shiny-plasti…

    • Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm keen to know about your cabinet clearances. On Hisense docs it says to have 5CM * 5CM * 10CM. After measuring I realised I only have 2.5CM * 2.5CM * 10CM clearance. Does your one run hot?

I actually have mine outside in a covered pergola so it has nothing near it at all.

        • Did the delivery guys dropped it off in your covered pergola or was it a just only inside the door kinda situation?

          • +2

@GJT: When they arrived the first thing they said was can you show us where it needs to go, then they went and unloaded it and brought it through. We opened the garage and made sure there was a walk way and they brought it through and placed it for us. They really were excellent.

      • +2

They say 5cm on the side so the doors can fully open. You may have to stick the fridge out a bit more in your case.

        • Yeah, given the price and size I think I'll just do something similar

    • How did you get rid of your old fridge?
How much extra for them to take away your old fridge?

      • +1

A charity that provides meals for the needy needed a fridge/freezer so i gave it to them.

I check it today, it's in stock again! I just pay it

    • Unfortunately, I bought this fridge on sale and had it delivered by ANC, but it arrived badly damaged, the door hinges were broken, the internal panels fell off and exposed the wires, but Costco does not have a replacement service department, so they can only refund. I asked for I could not buy the same fridge again at the price because the sales period has passed. They said they could help me apply for a price discount, but this all happened within a day. I have not received any further news. At present, they will arrange a return and refund, but the price discount still needs to wait for further news.

      • Costco does not have a replacement service department

Bit weird in this day and age. Only really understandable if they literally stopped selling and stocking this model but even in those instances they could still offer to replace with something similarly specc'd.
