This price dropped last week and I missed it. Great lock that also works with HomeKit and HomeKey. We have one at work, I have one at home, now I'm buying another for home. Officeworks are price matching at $277. JB are at $279 and will only price match, won't price beat.

Random coupon code shown at checkout took a further $15 off.

    • Cool, cheers! Pretty close to what I paid in the end after random $15 voucher at checkout ($262), then $5 from Shopback gift cards savings ($257), then there's an Earn more voucher thing going on but they'll probably be $0.10 as per usual.

    This vs Ultraloq?

  • Worth noting you require the hub and an Aqara account to use the door lock with Home Assistant. Not sure if it uses a cloud connection or not, but I'm still looking for a zigbee lock that's fully HA compatible and runs local.

The new Aqara U300 Lever Lock is a bit closer to local control. It is Matter Over Thread (and Bluetooth). It doesn’t need an Aqara Hub, and can be used with other vendor’s Thread Border Routers. Lock/unlock and battery are exposed to Home Assistant via Matter. Some additional controls are available through HomeKit, but it still needs the Aqara app to change most settings.

It is the closest lock to what I need, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

      • Interesting offering, but from my POV not enough devices on the market yet using Matter Over Thread. Just ordered a bunch of Reolink stuff + Aqara and it's all either Zigbee or PoE.

That's just a cylinder lock though, not a deadbolt. Not really appropriate for a front door.

    • You don't need an Aqara account, you can connect to the lock through matter (over wifi) via the E1 hub

      • Pretty sure you need the account to setup the lock and hub though no?

  • Will the strata break into my unit to replace this?
