Cheapest it's ever been by a big margin according to the camels.

Compared to your normal Instant Pot, this guy has a 'Max' pressure mode that goes up to 15psi. Also, it comes with Wi-Fi which I never really found a use for, but might be useful in some cases I guess…

Worth it for the pro handles on the inner pot and flat bottom base that can be used on a regular stove top.

    • flat bottom base that can be used on a regular stove top

The comparison table on the listing indicates otherwise:
      Stove Friendly Inner Pot ✘

But it may be incorrect in the table?

In the bullet points of the listing; "About this Item" it says:
THE MOST VERSITILE: The ONLY Multi-Cooker with a Premium Cookware Grade Inner Pot with Stay-Cool Silicone Handles. - Meaning you can take it from your Insta Pot to your stove top!

  • Non wifi grey is for 107.

  • Sold out for regional area 😔

  • The Instapot Pot Pro plus looks good, but am feeling cautious as a lots of the functionality improvement is app based, and I worry about app support in a few years.

Eg. For the pressure release valve, instead of having a manual control this is electronic via the app or clumsily through the front touchscreen.

Argh - can't decide between this or the cheaper models for $30 or $50 less.

Personally i wouldn't even use the app, so support is irrelevant. Using the duo plus for over a year i may have used the release valve twice due to impatience but a slow release is preferred to avoid the stream plume. For the little extra I'd go for the pro pot had i known the inconveniences without handles and incompatibility of the pro pot with lesser models.

Back to 317 for me. BTW if you like yoghurt then any of these smart cookers with a yoghurt program is worth its weight in whey

    • I just happen to have a 3L Duo Nova sitting around doing nothing. Any recommended yogurt recipes?

      • +1

What we do is get a ceramic, or Pyrex, container that fits in the Duo Nova and can handle 1L of fluid. Preferable one you can put a lid on afterwards. Add 150g of Procal Greek and 1L of UHT milk and mix together. Set yogurt for 12 hours.

        • Sounds great! I already have the perfect Pyrex container with a lid. I'll give it a go.
          Thanks @try2bhelpful !

@coin-rat: I forgot to say you need to put the Pyrex bowl on a stand and have one cup of water in the stainless steel bowl to provide a humid environment.

Will be interested to see what you think. I find the longer you “cook” the thicker the yogurt is.

    it comes with Wi-Fi

    No AI, no deal.

  • Is this worth it for a lazy cook?

    • I say definitely. You can find so many meals where the steps are: Put everything into the pot, cook for 15-20 minutes, simmer to reduce for 10, serve.

  • Is the 5.7l too big for 1 person?

    • +1

Yes. 3L is enough for 2

    • +1

If you meal prep, the 5.7L will be handy, otherwise go for the smaller size.

    • +2

No, it's almost perfect, though I wish I had bought the 8 litre one - you just can't make enough soup in the 5.7, and you can barely fit a small chicken in there…
