I was wondering if anyone knew if McDonalds have gift cards that can be used in the App?
I've started chasing discounts on other gift cards and I just placed a Maccas order and I realized that I've never seen a Maccas one. But then I haven't actually looked for them. I have googled it, but not much luck.

I am disappointed enough with any gift card in the first place, and as you say, to be forced to buy at Maccas would be an extra layer of disappointment ;-)
It seems crazy to me when someone takes perfectly good money, which can be used anywhere, and limits my flexibility by restricting spending to specific stores. It feels like they don’t want to put thought into a meaningful gift, but also don’t trust me enough to spend the money how I’d like. Gift cards are a calculated marketing con that locks you into spending only with a specific set of stores, sometimes with additional restrictions within the store, and often allowing them to profit from unused balances, expiration dates, and/or fees, none of which applies to cash.
But in this case, the OP seems to be chasing discounts for themselves at Maccas, so that is arguably a good use of their own money.
McDonalds don't do GC in Australia but you can purchase Restaurant Choice Gift cards which works at fast food places. There are other TCN cards that also work at Maccas (MCC 5814)
Rest. Choice gift cards can be obtained at a "discount" very easily, subscribe to this tag so that you can receive notifications when it's posted as a deal.

Do not get this card confused with the "Good Food Gift Card". This card cannot be used at Fast food (MCC 5814).
Shopback app offers a crappy 2% cashback on the Shopback Fast Food Visa, which can be obtained at any time for $30 / $50 / $100 denoms.
You can save money by picking it up yourself instead of ordering it.
