Ecovacs DEEBOT N30 Pro Omni Robotic Vacuum (White) - $948 + Delivery ($0 C&C/in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

50

At 50% off it seems like a good price for a new model with a lot of features but I wasn't able to find anything by the vacuum wars guys yet to be able to properly compare to Roborock/Dream etc.

  • Will be very careful with Evovacs. User reviews are pretty bad compared to others.

  • Ecovacs have privacy issues

    • Is this the one that ABC reported? Where the reporters did not mention it only effect x2 and its already fix? But he forget to mention that this vulnerability effect other robots vacum also even the one from roomba which actually send a picture of owner in toilet to internet..

      • X2 is the newest. So what about the older ones? Its not just the abc doing the research you know.
        https://techcrunch.com/2024/08/09/ecovacs-home-robots-can-be…

And the article from the abc was 4th oct. The patch is supposed to come through in nov. So ofc abc can't exactly say it's been patched, right? Unless they have a time machine.

Also, ecovacs said the issue has been fixed…but then promised an update in november. So has it been fixed or not? If it has, why send an update in november?

And the issue is how they brush the issue off. But hey you do you. I'm just letting people out there know. You can defend a multibillion dollar company all you want. But i think we need to push for better for everyone

        • Here the article if you don't want to bias https://www.channelnews.com.au/abc-ecovacs-rant-failed-to-te…

I did not defend multibilion company.. I don't like ecovacs, but not base on bias reporting… Ecovac have one of the worse navigation and the fact that they don't even bother to add new functionality to their old robot where it clearly implemented in their new lower end model. That's the reason why I don't buy their product anymore..

I have an EcoVacs and the main issue isn't the privacy (it doesn't have a camera) but that it keeps losing the map, and then you have to remap the house. So you lose all of your schedules and your exclusion areas.

Yep i had the X2 Omni and i had this issue, not to mention the path it actually vaccums is weird, sometimes doing a few squiggles of passes and not the whole room yet saying the room was done.

My main issue was a QC issue of the charging points, they wouldnt connect properly, causing it to not charge and have a loud reboot loop when it was dead, sometimes at 2-3:00am. I sent it back twice for repair before finally getting a refund. I went the Eufy S1 Pro and it is night and day better in everyway.

  • My next vacuum should have flexi arm feature.

  • I had an issue with Ecovacs N8+, after using for a year (warranty expired) , the bot cannot be charged with the base.
TLDR, the electrical board inside the base was short-circuited and burnt for some reason.
I contacted Ecovacs but unfortunately they ignored me once they found out my warranty is expired.

    • you can argue it's expensive robot and it should lasted longer that 1 year (more likely 3 years)

There is no specific time when the consumer guarantees no longer apply to products. They may apply even after the manufacturer's warranty period has past. The length of the consumer guarantee period depends on a number of factors including:

how much time has passed since the consumer bought the product
      the type of product
how a consumer is likely to use the product
the length of time for which it is reasonable for the product to be used
the amount of use it could reasonably be expected to tolerate before the failure becomes noticeable.

      just saying.

      • Thanks mate.
What can I do in this case?

        • Contact the retailer you bought it from?

          • @noise36: I did contact Ecovacs couple months ago as I brought directly from their online store.
            No response from them sadly

            • +1

@Terry25: That is illegal. They are bound by the ACL not their own policies. Maybe try a different way to contact such as facebook? If that fails I would lodge a complaint with your local consumer protection people.

If you wish to take it further, first inform them you're going to contact the ACCC (through your state agency) if that doesn't move them, you have to contact your agency so Victoria is https://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/contact-us/resolve-your-prob… and go from there

  • Good specs but unfortunately the ecovacs app is terrible
Having yelled and screamed at it for 3 years I upgraded to a Dreame and can't believe how much better the app is.

  • OP could you please update with "Robot Vacuum" in the title.. instead of robotic vac? Thanks.
