While looking at security cameras on AliExpress's 11.11 sale I came across this offering from Reolink.

It is their "4K Solar & Battery Powered Wireless Security Camera 180° ColorX Night Vision Outdoor WiFi Camera AI Home Hub Compatible".

It has Wi-Fi 6, 4K streaming, 180 degrees of horizontal capture and 50 degrees vertical, night vision, AI-based pet detection, two-way audio, H.264 / H.265 compression, IP66 water and dust resistance, etc.

The sale has several options, but for each you can bring the price down further than what's listed with the two coupon codes here.

  • Base only: was $316.34, sale price $158.19 $126.69 - after vouchers comes to $103.25 with free shipping, or 64% off
  • Camera only: $287.69, was $575.38
  • Camera with solar: $316.19, was $632.38
  • Base unit, camera, solar: $445.69, was $891.38
  • Base unit, 2 cameras, 2 solar: $747.69, was $1,495.38

Don't forget the two coupon codes to take the price down lower than the listed sale price.

I think that price is for the home base only, does not include the camera

    • it says there is a sale in 8 min maybe that's it? or maybe he has made a mistake.

      • Yes, sorry, I didn't quite realise the 11.11 sale only kicks in on 11th Nov in the American PST timezone. So, 7pm AEDT for us - but definitely happening now.

You're right; my apologies! I've edited the post. Thank you!

  • this is what I am looking for but the price is too high

I’ve been waiting for the next Reolink sale too. It’s hard to decide between the wired hard disk boxes and this. I guess the advantage here is its wifi. Perhaps I don’t need a big wired system. I read maximum capacity is 2x 512gb. Probably good enough for a small setup with a few cameras.

I have a Reolink nvr for all my currently installed cameras. I recently bought the Reolink video doorbell, and I wanted to be able to use it with my Google home hubs, which you can’t do with the nvr. But you can with the home hub.

WiFi cameras are ALWAYS worse than PoE. I strongly reccomend PoE if you can afford the time/installation. However, I couldn't, and wanted to test the waters with a WiFi kit - and the Home Hub + Argus 3 Ultra is very good. Not perfect at all, but good. I got a comparable Swann kit before it and nearly drove over the (profanity) thing, and returned it with prejudice within 30 days - the Reolink system is better and has outlasted the Swann kit (while being cheaper!) by far!

IF you can do PoE, do it - but if you can't, like me, or just want to suppliment with some portable devices you can move around, then I like it and suggest it. Just watch your ranges and be prepared to reboot the hub/cameras if some connectivity inconsistensies crop up!

      • Thank you for your comments. I’ve had one cheap Reolink camera I’ve been testing and I’m pretty happy with the wifi performance.

I did ponder over the Poe. But it would mean many dangerous expeditions into the roof lol there is only pain in there!

Anyway I went all in and got the home hub, duo, doorbell and some other stick ups. All wifi, delivered for less than 500, Im happy! Maybe I’d save a bit more Black Friday, maybe more. This price is good for me :)

          Same thinking here!

I always get annoyed when people say things like "just go poe lol it's better" but it is worth noting that it is LEAGUES ahead of wifi, by simple function of the systems - and that's totally fine. Doesn't mean wifi doesn't have it's place!

In my case I couldn't do the cabling work if I wanted to, so this was both a necessity plus exploratory into Reolink products, since Swann was the equivalent of a seagull shit in my hot chippies.

Yep I got a bundle deal with some Argus 3 Ultras - overall, can't complain! I'm not adverse to doing my own tech support, but I cannot handle it if the system is beyond helping. Going to expand to some solar panels and perhaps a doorbell as well - good luck and enjoy friendo!

  • Waiting for Negative Nellie to enter the chat.

  • Is the home base (or reolink products in general) regional locks?

  • For what it's worth, you can get similar pricing directly on the Reolink website - they always have a bundle up with the Hub + 2 Argus 3 Ultras, which is what I'd go for. It may come in slightly higher but you're not paying the US exchange rate, shipping, or waiting a lot longer for a US dispatch, so IMO the tradeoff is worth it.

  • I've got the Reolink home hub and Argus Ultra cameras which I got through a deal directly from Reolink. It generally works well, but I've had times where it just stops recording to the hub. I get all the notifications but the recordings are all 0 bytes. A hard reset fixes it, but I've never really gotten to the bottom of it. Reolink support were responsive but not particularly helpful.

Is it worth it to get this now? I think i read somewhere there was Home Hub 2? Is itcoming to Aus soon?

  • How did you get it down to $65USD? It shows up for me as 80USD and best I could find is a 5 off 39 coupon. Thanks.

  • Thanks. Just picked up the home hub for $98.61 thanks to the coupon codes (I also had $6 in AliExpress coins)

  • FYI these don't come with the 64gb sd card anymore
