50 bucks should be ok
That would be a bargain
Does anyone sell an equivalent watch at that price?
Thats doesn't mean that this one is worth it
That's not what negs are for though.
Is there a smart watch that you think is good value?
@sween64: Nopes
@U30004: So you just came here to act like a child?
@Trishool: Yes
You are dreaming my friend.
Speaking of which, what the hell happened to Fitbit since Google's acquisition. I haven't seen a fitbit deal in a while now
Fitbit are dead. They moved all Fitbit users to use Google Fit and Google accounts. They had already stripped out almost every feature that made Fitbit unique (e.g custom apps).
During the transition, I had an issue with an older Fitbit Charge that was caused by the way Google had killed Fitbit Pay and somehow Google Wallet didn't work correctly on my earlier model. Since it was still within the warranty period, I returned the watch and bought the new model. Oddly, the newer Fitbit watch had Alexa instead of Google Assistant. Since there is no way of switching to use Google Assistant, the watch is now even less functional than the earlier model was for me.
How is this versus a Watch4 Classic?
Got one few months back. This one had a funny glitch when sun hit it and flickered lower end of screen. Google sent me a replacement. Works ok. Battery time is quite bad tbh. Around 20h if lucky and turn off apps running as still a bug. The screen is scratched already. Thought would be more resistant. But so exposed as being rounded and not protected as apple watch or most other smart watches. Won't buy pixel watch again.
I put a screen protector on my OG Pixel Watch and it's been fine. And I still get about 20-24 hours of of my watch.
What uses are these for mainly. I was planning on buying one but then i gave it a thought. No what case would i be wanting to use a watch that cost $5 a month extra instead of my phone. So i didnt buy it. It was a really good deal mind you and i just couldn't justify the uses. I don't like things around my skin either.
Notification triage, biometrics and payments are probably the main uses.
Lets you see notifications without having to pick up your phone which might mean you don't waste time or attention on stupid shit. Biometrics and activity tracking inside Google's ecosystem like steps, sleep and HR. Payments via Google wallet.
Pretty limited in value for most people I think.
I'm a little surprised that LTE versions haven't picked up more. People who exercise or do other activities away from their phone can use the LTE version to continue to receive notifications or even make calls and send messages despite not carrying their phone. I guess that's ultimately still a pretty niche use case.
it's already this cheap?
that tells me there are still things broken about it like the PW1. ymmv.
3 has been out for a while now
google says September 2024 release date for PW3. a bit over 1 month not that long..
If you don't mind it being refurbished, catch has an LTE for $187. Or eBay used for $180.
Samsung GW 5 Pro LTE for $299 is a no brainer via Telstra. If you have Telstra points could be had for even less.
Wish they made one that looked like a watch.
I actually really like the look of this. If you want one that looks more like a real watch, try TicWatch or some other Chinese brands
I've had my Ticwatch 3 Pro for coming up to 2 yrs. Love it!

LTE option also available for 369. Does anyone know if these can be activated on network with anyone other than Telstra? Can you use them with a standalone eSim?
