TCL 65" C855 Mini-LED $1749.99, 75" $2399.99, 65" C755 Mini-LED $1299.99, 75" $1749.99, 85" $2599.99 @ Costco (M'ship Required)

For all those who have been waiting for a C855 deal… Sadly nothing on the 85" though.

C755 is also a great price. Mini-LED, just with a lot less dimming zones (it's very similar to the C845)

  • Question for TV pro’s. I managed to wangle a quote out of the goodguys for a Bravia 7 75 $2700 delivered. Is it worth the little extra for the Sony or just get the 75 TCL?

    • +10

IMO not worth the additional $1k, thats 40% more expensive. The sony might outperform in a few areas but not by 40%. Spend the saved money on sound setup and you will have a better overall experience.

      • +2

        Agreed

The difference will not really be noticeable, and like you said it's 40% more. Couple hundred, sure maybe compare the two.

    • I have both.

Even though sony and TCL are all using google TV, I found TCL system is buggy. And Sony support is much better. For example, sony still provides Os update for 2014 TVs, but TCL, maybe 3 years at most?

And default color, Sony is much better. But for TCL, if you use Apple TV to force it show in DobbyVision mode, then it’s as good as Sony.

      • Yeh the C855 75 inch is only $300 cheaper than the Sony. I don’t have Apple TV or want it so may just go with the Sony.

        • $300 cheaper?

          • @poxy001: The C855 75 inch is listed as $2399.
            I got a quote from the GGs for $2700 for a 75 Bravia 7.

      • By forcing you mean to even show non Dolby Vision content in Dolby Vision?

      • That’s my intention; use AppleTV as only source (basically as OS), will TCL be ok and ok long term?

    • @furiousgeorge Please teach me your ways, even on special the 75 inch Bravia is $3.4K. If I could get a discount like that on the 65 inch I'd be sold

75 inch for that price I'm tempted to keep trying to convince the better half that we need one that big

I got the Sony store to price beat Costco , then got the GG to pricebeat the Sony pricebeat.
I went full inception and just got Sony to price beat the GG to $2641.
Sony store sent me a $100 off voucher , why I don’t know but it works on the pricebeat so it will be $2561 for the 75 Bravia 7 if I go ahead

        • You've gone full ozbargain

I'd probably wait and see what black Friday brings. The 65C755 was $1085 with a 10% gift card at HN a couple of weeks ago.

Managed to get the 65C755 and a Samsung q930d together for $1735 considering the GC value.

GC should get me a pretty good down payment on some Monster HDMI cables to hook it all together.

    • Yep, ok deal of you need these now but if fully expect better deals through November. Was cheaper a fortnight ago as you said. Looking at historic data TCL should have creating deals in the next few weeks

  • +2

    I’d wait until BF.

These are okay prices but I reckon they’ll go lower again like they did a few weeks ago.

I paid just under $1800 at JB combined with Woolies gift card deals for the 75”.

These prices are higher than previous deal.. Am I missing anything?

    • +1

Probably not. I didn't do a very good search before posting, it seems, and I missed the C855 75" deal recently :(

I've been looking for a C755 75" and this seemed the best price around, figured I'd throw the rest up while at it. But mostly I suck at searching.

      • In last HN deal you could get TGG to price match to bring the price of C755 75" down to $1293.

    • Yeah no deal here. 75" is 10 bucks cheaper at Appliance Central standard pricing. I'd wait for Black Friday.

i paid less then $1800 including delivery for my 75" C855 only a few weeks ago. this is not a good deal what so ever lol. It was also less then this price at costco around that time, i think it was $2149 or something like that. dud deal, wait for black friday. everyone should have jumped on the deals from a few weeks ago….Awesome Tv btw, highly recommend :D

Has anyone seen C855 side by side with OLED? I did the other day, and OLED is still by far the better display. I know TCL is much cheaper but if I am going to buy a tv and keep for 10 years I rather spurge the cash and buy the OLED.

Keen to hear what C855 owner might say, is it a matter of price/performance savings or maybe the display I saw was not tuned?

    • I know nothing about TVs but surely the technology moves enough in even 5 years to consider an upgrade right?

  • +2

How does it compare to the Hisense U8N?

  • I bought the C855 98" HN deal a few weeks ago, but then cancelled it a few days later, hoping the Black Friday will bring a better deal. I'm beginning to wonder if I will get one…

  • 65” not a great deal. Paid $1405 @ HN and got the $140.50 gift voucher.

    • Agreed. I paid $1,264.50 at TGG after they price matched the HN deal including gift cards.
