Hi. I need to buy a laptop and the laptops is available from Scorptec and JB Hi-Fi. Both laptops have the same model number and specifications except one has 8GB RAM and the other one has 16GB RAM.

Model number isn’t specific enough. Look at SKU. They won’t price match.
So you want to use an 8GB price of a product to get the 16GB variant, unless you get lucky with the staff member on the day its highly unlikely to happen.
They have the right to refuse even if the items were identical btw. Also this is a bit deceptive to try and use an 8gb model to price match a 16gb ram model?
The way it works at JB is that you ask the staff member if they can beat the price. They have a look and if they feel like doing it they will. If not, too bad as they don't make any promises/guarantees.

Hi. This is the update. I went to 2 stores. One of them said they can’t give it for lower price. But, they reduced $175. The other store found out the ram difference, so they deny the price match. Got the laptop for discounted price. Sometimes, we have to give a try. Hope this helps.
Which one has 16GB? Maybe they won't notice.
