Used Oil Analysis / ICE Health Check

My aim is knowledge-sharing.

Considerations & must relate to Used-Oil-Analysis
If you share a view/belief, pls quote a creditable-source. Maybe outlier-comments made by someone @ Reddit/Quora has LOW-credibility?

If you have experience (likely-enthusiants who've paid for such test), pls share.
How did the Used-Oil-Analysis change your-behaviour, your-application, your-circumstances etc etc…detailed-responses pls.
Gulf Western Oil: if you have UOA-results, pls share…or any-brand.

Your readers are likely to be wide & vast…from those want to review oil-change interval (majority) to racing-application (minority/outlier)…no F1-use 🤣.

I've researched this topic & believe that it has NO-use for me. I only buy PREMIUM-brand oil 5W-30 or LOWER SAE-grade on-sales & change my engine-oil every 6 months regardless of km traveled & ~ 7,000 km/y gentle-driving.

Thanks for sharing.

I've done a UOA in the past. It proved that I could go well past 10,000 km before changing the oil, even with short trips and revving the engine past 4000rpm.

      revving the engine past 4000rpm.

      How is your Mustang going?

      • Known as divorce mobile in my neck of the woods, as 2 out of 3 owners in 150m of my place are in that boat.

    • Is that with any filtering of the used oil?

Why does sound like someone is trying to get us to do their homework assignment… It is literally written like a uni question. It even seems to off kilter to even be an AI question…

    Quote sources…
    Must relate too…
    Your readers…
    detailed-responses… (why is this hyphenated??)

    If you have experience…

We frequently do oil sampling all the time at work, but it is outsourced to an oil testing facility. So, unfortunately, that would mean that any evidence I give here today before this sub-committee would be anecdotal at best.

If you share a belief… quote a creditable-source (again, why is this hyphenated??)

On a side note, beliefs dont require "credible sources", as a belief is based mostly on faith.

Belief: An acceptance that something exists or is true, especially one without proof.

Beliefs like wind in the trees need no proof for faith be faith not stone nor stick say I truths rest not on words but in heart as the old folks say water don’t turn the mill sittin still and yet here’s one dancin the tune of heavy words

oil is cheap, a new engine is not.

this is like next level penny pinching

Unless you are using your vehicle in extreme conditions its highly unlikely to be worth the expense. When i say extreme conditions, i mean the pointy end of the race field with a big budget.

  • What is up with that formatting?

    • Looks like the text came directly from the marking rubric for their assignment.

Oh, 100% this is an assignment task… I'm guessing ChatOIL wasn't spitting out anything useful so they thought they would bung in on on Australia's No. 1 automotive forum…

This, this and this should help you with your homework assignment.
