I really wanted to like the 8bitdo ultimate
Same here, but after trying the Ultimate I prefer the Pro 2/SN30.
Nice will try one next deal if good price
The Ultimate just doesn't feel natural. It's like the sides are a bit too chunky and dig in.
The 2.4G has been revised with Hall-Effect Joysticks, but it's always a gamble when purchase from AliExpress unless they specifically mention Hall-Effect Joysticks.
Yeah, I agree. It's a risky play. I've seen them for sale around ~$65-$70 mark. Rather get something here in AUS or Amazon than AliExpress. Just hoping someone here has spotted a deal that they can provide.
As Jimothy Wongingtons mentioned above, just wait until Black Friday (2-3 weeks) if you want to get it from Amazon.
It will most likely drop to ~$68 Delivered at Amazon.
2.4G can connect to Nintendo Switch via the USB dongle, but it's a lot more messing around (need to set to sync mode then hold a few buttons which usually takes ~20-30 seconds) and then after a few weeks it stopped connecting for me.
The ultimate bluetooth just requires you to turn on and it pretty much auto-connects from the re-order controllers screen.
Also, the 2.4G version has the different XYBA button pattern than the Switch while the Ultimate Bluetooth has the pattern matching the Switch.
I swapped them on Amazon for $20 more and it was worth every dollar.

This is the latest model but this does not support switch.
This has Hall effect triggers and joysticks microswitch bumbers and 3.5mm jack.
Prob closer to Black Friday if you want it via Amazon instead
I really wanted to like the 8bitdo ultimate, but honestly dual shock 4 or Xbox one controller just overall better for me. I must be getting old.
