New Gaming PC

Moving out of the laptop world and getting back into PC gaming. I'm a light gamer. I just play car games and FPS.

I was thinking of getting something small like maybe an ITX ( not sure what are the downsides of getting that). I already have a 2060gtx lying around. Thinking of building it as I go along. To make it more future proof ( 3 to 5 years). Below is what I was thinking

CPU AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3d
GPU Gefore 5070 in the future
MB PCIe 5 board ( Need suggestions)
PSU Corsair RM850e 850W
Case Fractal Design Meshify 2 Mini Black Micro ATX Case ( or any ITX ones if there arent any downsides to it)
RAM Corsair VENGEANCE Black 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz DDR5

Any suggestions are welcome.

Start a build on https://au.pcpartpicker.com to play around with what's available, pricing, and compatibility. Or do a search here for the prebuilt units.

thinking of getting something small like maybe an ITX ( not sure what are the downsides of getting that).

    More expensive

    Harder to cable manage

Can't fit bigger GPUs or CPU coolers

Worse thermals (most of the time)

Potentially limited IO depending on the mobo and case

But I'm still very happy with mine :)

Preach… ITX … pay more for less and the idea of futureproofing is funny coz they are literally designed around current gen GPU and cooling solutions. 5070 is just going to be even bigger.

  • RM850e - That's not going to fit in a Mini ITX build.

Check the length of your 2060 too, it may limit Mini ITX case choices.
