Was $28 until I logged in. Now showing $34.56.

Every time I buy from here it feels so slimy.

    • +2

I got $41 after logging in. Sucks.

      • +2

$28 in an incognito window. I'd buy two if it didn't feel like I was haggling.

    • for me it still shows $28 even after i log in. Got one for $32.82 (inc GST and free delivery)

  • shows $42 to me after log in

    • Same.

  • +1

Yeah $34 for me. I bit the bullet anyway….but $28 would have been amazing lol. Still a good price at $34

  • how would this compare to an xbox controller?

    • in terms of quality

      • +1

        Similarly.

The plastics on the Xbox controllers handle full force gamer rage throws; I'm not sure this would. I'd put +1 to Xbox for plastics.

This though, has hall effect sticks, meaning they theoretically should never wear out in a lifetime, being a +1 to this.

The biggest pro to me about this controller is the straighter sides; it stops you pressing diagonals on the dpad by accident so commonly as happens with an xbox controller.

        • I'm not sure if that is a common occurrence with an xbox controller..

          • @TheFreaK: All good, I'm sure, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned it.

I'm pretty sure I can even find the issue of Hyper Magazine where they did a dive into it if I look hard enough through my bookshelves…
Not many people noticed until Xbox Arcade was a thing, and people missed tight pacman plays constantly.
Centipede was another one that highlighted it pretty severely (though its more forgiving).
This is one of the main reasons a few people prefered the Duke controller over the S controller - and while the 'mush' feeling has improved with each generation, it's also only gotten more 'angular'.

These days, with reto emulation being more mainstream, it's one of the most commonly asked controller questions 'in the scene'; people finding Mortal Kombat and Super Street Fighter combos 'not working' - When you record the inputs, its because there's a lot more diagonal inputs.
For people who have been gaming for literally 40 years, having your dpad 'straight' (to your hand) is a significant muscle memory.

        • In theory the springs can wear out and eventually go out of center, though I don't think it's very common

  • Same, $45 once logged in. Not a deal IMO

    • +1

I just refreshed the page and saw the same price. Insane - does Aliexpress have some sort of surge pricing?

At $28 the deal was amazing - $34, less so but still a deal. At $45, that's almost what they're going for on Amazon (around $50-55).

  • I still use my old xbox 360 controller. Are these much of an upgrade?

    • The dpad is a huge one. The 360 especially was mushy as hell; but if you dont use that, and arent experiencing issues, then probably not.

  • got one at $28.70 … hope it arrives :)

    • So buying from Ali is a bit of gambling your cash?

      • Well it ain't Amazon, is it?

      • -1

        Yes.

  • $41 for me after logging in. Wonder if I see higher pricing because we buy from there fairly often.

  • As a long time user of their Ultimate 2.4G controller, this one is extremely bad, so bad that I felt like I was given a duplicate or fake.

    The good:

The polling rate is good but I couldn’t notice the difference in gaming.
    Price.
Turbo button & additional configurable buttons.

    The bad:

Horrible d-pad. (I play offline multiplayer fighting games & noticed the d-pad consistently registering wrong input. Complete opposite of their ultimate controller).
No Bluetooth support for PC games. You are left with connecting dongle or cables but in my case I have to attach 4 dongles (occupying ports) where one dongle or Bluetooth PC support could have easily allowed multiple devices to connect.
No software configuration support. Even some of the no name brands provide a way to configure controllers via pc/phone app.
    Colour options.
    Cheap non-game buttons.

If I hadn’t thrown the box, I would’ve have returned it. At $42, it was alright price if it was a bit better.

  • Mine has just been shipped.

  • Why is the GST not 10%? $34.60 and 'tax' is $4.12, are they just adding random amounts?

  • Will this be good to use with an Anbernic console? I just want a nice controller, bluetooth that connects to it.

    • FWIW Anbernic have their own controller, the RG P01, that I've seen recommended here as well

  • Does anyone know if this item has the Hall Effect joysticks?

Also, any good deals out there for the ultimate controller?
