PSA: Always Take Screenshots of Your ShopBack Tracking

Shopback has become so bad, probably always was and I just got the brunt of it.

They mark the tracked cashback as 0 so you don't even know what you lost out on. I luckily had taken some screenshots this time. I've had two claims marked down to 0 (and if I had not taken the screenshots, I'd probably wouldn't have noticed..) and on top of that my referral was randomly rejected. The cherry on top is that I've had support tickets open for a few weeks now with no reply yet. Comapare that to cashrewards who tracked one of my complaints and paid out the cashback within a couple of days of complaining about a missing cashback during the same period.

I hate shopback, at this rate it seems less of a bargain and more of a lottery.

Thanks for coming to my rant, but please take screenshots of your shopback tracking page and regularly check the tracking/outcomes.

      All of them are older purchases. When I made the three, none of them had been rejected. I have not used them since the first one was changed to 0 and I did not get a reply for my ticket.

      Been using cashrewards exclusively since then regardless of how "good" the shopback deals are

    Shopback still a LOT more reliable than cashrewards tracking purchases in my experience.

    • So true. FWIW I've had pretty much no issues with TopCashBack or cashrewards, while ShopBack has hardly ever worked correctly for me, to the point that I closed my account a long time ago. I opened a new account recently as the Moto G85 offer was quite tempting, but in the end I decided I didn't want to take my chances with a potential $0 discount.

  • I just had the same issue with Cashrewards where they only applied 9% instead of 11% for a shop. Luckily I screenshoted the 'cashback history' button on ozbargain for that store as evidence prior to purchase however it is now very annoying to have to do this for every shop i do on CR, SB, and TCB.

    All cashback sites have this issue, where it's cashrewards, topcashback or shopback.

    As long as you only buy what you were going to anyway it doesn't make much difference.
