200

Noticed both the Pac-Man and Ms Pac-Man Arcade1UP are down to under $500 one of the cheapest I've seen these units delivered. Not bad if you have been keeping an eye on getting one.

Good price. Not too expensive to build one yourself. Done it with my old rpi. Button and joysticks from Ali. Retropie.
Think got around 2000+ games, easy to add and from different consoles. NES Amiga and so on. N64 having issues as rpi not powerful enough. Cost is around $200 with parts. And was a fun project. Show the youngsters super Mario NES.

    • any suggestions for doing the cabinet? I bought the control board and a Raspberry Pi and got it setup but didn't know where to start with getting a suitable cabinet for it

    • Do you have a guide on how you built yours? Sounds cool as!

      • Sorry no guide. I got cheap boards and some timber from IKEA for an old cabinet. Still haven't painted it or made proper panels, but it's working. I put up some pictures here shortly.

          • @Mikael: Although I applaud those with the wood working skills to make their own cabinets, it is not usually too hard to find a shell of an old arcade cabinet for sale on facebook marketplace. Amazing how often you see these pop up in someone's shed in a broken but still structurally solid condition.

Rip out the old broken boards and screens, replace with a new monitor, stick in a PC, wire up the controls and you will have a really nice authentic arcade cabinet feel.

Here's a photo of my two that I've had for a long time now. I have two because one has a vertical screen orientation and the other a horizontal orientation - I have an understanding wife!

            • @Wuggle: They look great @Wuggle. Nah I don't have woodworking skills by proof of my pictures haha. Was just a fun project. Before built my own 3d printer with level sensors display and heatbed. Printed once and disassembled lol. I
n the process playing with my cnc/laser engraver.

Also thinking building an automatic Lego sorter. Thinking about that for a while. Got most parts to get going. See you can get coinslot for around $10. Got Kodi on it so can watch movies too.
Had to build a 3x3m to put my things in. Try to keep it there so I don't spread out further and back into garage.

  • My Costco card ended like a month ago (well, I refunded it a day or two prior lol), but this is tempting enough to swing in store, suss the stock, and signup again for a day.

  • Both come with 14 games on the unit out of the box…
