Diversification of FF Points

Hi all,
I have over 1 million QFF points and 600k velocity, they are useful, but just wondering who people would consider to be the best frequent flyer program in terms of business availability and ability for aussies to obtain significant number of points through signup offers and churning etc.

I’ve heard about krisflyer however conversion rate between anz and them is about 3:1, but worse is they expire.

Just wondering what I should start accumulating next for better availability.

Thanks

Are you a collector or are you using them

    • Normally go on about 1 business class overseas trip a year

  • Depends whether you're talking domestic or international? I recently redeemed four multi-city QFF award seats to the USA and UK and can't recall ever seeing any long-haul seats in J. You can search via seats.aero but I recall there may be others.

have have 600k in Qantas and 150k velocity.

Did have 450k velocity but it seems to be the only one that has any business award availability. Qantas have gone to sh1t when it comes to trying to use points.

I think having both is more than enough for diversification.

    • I agree …
Until recently, I had roughly 270k of each.

Virgin - was easy to redeem on reward flights … Booked a return trip (east-west) with less than week's notice.

Qantas had no reward flights (during sensible travel hours) within 6 weeks of when I was looking.

But Qantas points seem to get you further for less points.

  • Sadly, locals will likely be stuck to QF or VA programs especially if you are churning cards.

Some programs have their sweet spots, I have used a variety of programs whether it be QF, VA, SQ, UA, AA, AV, AC to make the most of what I want to do for over 20 years now.
