Anyone Know What's Going on Here with Various Domestics Flights for No Reason (Redemption Flights to PPT- Tahiti) ?

Been looking for a redemption flight into PPT (Tahiti) by Dec 3. Just a single person 1 way..

PointHacks says SQ have a 12 500 code share flight with Air NZ. They don't. I called up to confirm and they said, we don't have anything in any class, from any capital city on any date. None nada.

seats.aero has no data - did a ANZ (all Australian and NZ airports to PPT). No data.

Looked on award hacker, and can see there should be fligths with Aeroplan

Tried pointsyeah, and via Aeroplan website, and got hits from Nov 28.

BUT - they go for example,

ADL->SYD- > CBR-> MEL - AKL -> PPT

So I then chose out of Melbourne.

It shows MEL—> CBR—> SYD—-> AKL

So tried out of Syd

It shows SYD—> CBR.—> MEL—> AKL

What on Earth is going on here? Each of those domestic legs are overnight as well.

It makes no sense??

Any other tips for getting to PPT via redemption?

    Take that ridiculous routing or pay cash. You are trying for a very late redemption on a route with bugger all capacity.

      They only become available late though (even these only became available this week).

      If I search 2 months to 355 days in advance, no flights.

      As for ridiculous routing, any ideas why they want you to fly every domestic leg (regardless of where you depart from - ie. no matter what you chose, you will be visiting, CBR, MEL, SYD)?

      Seems like someone is cooking the books (ie.. nothing to see here… flights are full)

    Did you manage to find a way to extend the expiry for the 42600 points that expired by October? Or is this to redeem another bundle of points?

      I ended up transferring/ diluting to Velocity (even worse, needed to call up KF and sort out an issue with the transfer not being enabled which took to near midnight).

    Hi,
    I found:
    ADL-SYD Jetstar 769 2 DEC (Overnight)
    SYD-RAR Jetstar 141 3 DEC
    RAR-PPT Air Tahiti 1037

    Even if you have to pay for it, some of those other option are lengthy with overnight stays adding lots to the cost.
    Stay somewhere cheap near SYD airport and fly out late the next day.

      Cheers for this. Interesting going via RAR instead of AKL. Relying on Jetstar to connect with Air Tahiti might be a bit risky.
      But I'll have a look at redemption options via RAR.
