+1 for the design and spec.

I think I want to watch Just One More Watch Video about this brand ;-)

    From "Our Story" webpage:
"Being an avid (but lazy) watch collector with many mechanical watches, I would often look down at my wrist and find the incorrect time, and date.

I found myself searching for the simplicity of a "grab and go" watch that I could take anywhere without having to worry about frequent winding or setting - but I couldn't find the right quartz watch."

This is the reasons why I only have Solar and Quartz watches until now … High accuracy and "grab and go" (maintenance free) :)

Thank you! Jody put together a great (unsponsored) review on the version 1 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tib45Ev8-QE

We made a few slight upgrades to version 2 based on community feedback as well as some of the reviews, including adding a screw-down crown, more superluminova, and increasing the size of the date window.

That's the way to go for hassle free collecting - just the servicing costs on some of my vintage watches have made me put off servicing, and unfortunately wearing them more as of late. Hoping to add a solar to the lineup soon - but lots of exciting designs to come in the realm of Quartz soon!

      • His review said he paid $249 too. 😅

You should link that in every post! I was a bit cynical when I started reading, but I trust Jody.

"Being an avid (but lazy) watch collector with many mechanical watches, I would often look down at my wrist and find the incorrect time, and date.

This doesn't make sense to me. An avid watch collector would be very aware that affordable mechanical watches are notorious for gaining or losing time every day.

More so from the winding / setting aspect! With about 80 in the collection at the time, a different watch every day, a disdain for noisy watch winders, and being in a rush most mornings to get out the door = wrong dates and times.

      • Member neoleo only likes quartz in case you didn't know but if I'm in a rush & want to wear an auto I just put it on & set the time later.

      • If you've got a lot of watches they don't all get worn…. Or wound.

        • +3

yep exactly - I keep telling myself one in one out, but evidently that hasn't worked. I'm convinced that I started this business as a way to fund my watch collecting addiction

@Hz Watches: When you get so far down the rabbit hole you become your own dealer…

          • @Hz Watches: I've just bought a 6 watch travel roll to keep at my desk so I can pick it up and shake it a few times a day to keep my automatics wound :D (nothing to do with me trimming my stem too short on my latest nh35 build and waiting on spares!).

I might well pick up one for your first release models some time soon, I love the look of them.

@Joker042: Oh nice! As someone who got started in watches by building custom SKXs, I know the feeling all too well. If you do, please reach out to our email, I'll hook you up with some free straps as well

  • I was tempted at release, and find myself tempted again!!

    • +10

If I could tempt you further…if you do end up ordering, please drop me an email at [email protected] and I'll throw in a free epsom or nubuck leather strap. Same goes for anyone else reading this!

  • Hz.02 looks beautiful, well done. Will consider that one

    • Thank you! Lots more product photography to come as we ramp up towards the launch - some shots in action will start to appear on our Instagram if you're wanting more photos instead of the initial renders.

I'm all for Australian microbrands! Specs look sweet.

I'm not looking for a Quartz atm but I did try joining your mailing list. The captcha wouldn't let me pass :|

    • Thank you! Ah that's great feedback and good to know - I'll have a look into it, as I didn't even realise our mailing list had a captcha

  • Expected Delivery Date: March 2025

Damn, read wrong, thought shipping was in November. wanted an impulse buy now! HAHA

    (I have a problem)

    • The HZ.02 is opening for pre-orders on the 30th of November, with deliveries expected in March - but the HZ.01 that the deal is for is on hand right now, and dispatched next business day after ordering, so it could be an impulse buy!

    Where are they made?

    • its got to be china

look at it this way… these guys are in Aust. - they are paying GST and I assume they are making some profit

and so let's just say there's $200 going back to china… $20 going back to switzerland for the movt.

then what other country can deliver a titanium watch for this kind of money

      • Let's just say $20 going back to China. Probably $0 to Swiss. Rest is sweet profit by doing a 'copy and paste a China product' and sort of dropselling.

I trialled a range of factories across many different locations, to find factories that were the best balance of quality, and value for money. The movement in the HZ.01 is manufactured in Switzerland, our titanium cases and crowns are machined in ShenZhen, and our dials are manufactured in HK. After all of this, our watches are assembled and inspected in HK, before going through final testing in Australia before being shipped from Melbourne.

      • +1 for full transparency!

      • oh that's makes the watch really AUSTRALIAN lol

HOWEVER despite I may be a bit sceptical about 2 year warranty the watch has a good value
for 379 you got Seiko movement, titanium+saphire I mean its an "honest" watch, the maximum that you can expect from a Quartz watch

  • Your Hz01 looks excellent and $250 is a great price for a titanium cased watch

    • Thank you! Trying to make a name for ourselves as one of the value for money / bang for buck microbrands

  • Nice to see an Aussie brand with good looking, unique watches that fit smaller wrists. Titanium and sapphire too! Fingers crossed for a similarly sized solar diver.

    • Thank you! A diver is definitely on the cards - but a few more (exciting) releases in between before we get there

  • Love it, especially the guilloche element and the modest width.

I've joined the mailing list. I hope your next one is even thinner, say 7-8mm.

I bought the HZ.01.2 and took delivery of it last month. It's a very nice watch to wear, and the upgrades based on the feedback have made it a very worthwhile purchase in my opinion. I really like the nice, light Ti case as it's barely noticeable on the wrist, and the styling is a superb blend of deco and modern design.
