  • Anyone have thoughts on Swoop vs Tangerine 100/20?

I'm transferring out of superloop now that my 6mth offer expired and still have a couple of weeks until my 30days notice is up to decide where to port

    • +2

I just negotiated my Telstra 100/20 $110 p/m plan to $80 per month. I have been paying around $70-80 for long time now and the discount expired this month. They either give discount on 6 monthly or 12 monthly basis, depends on the reps.

      • Do you do it online or call up?

        • +1

I do online, it's hit or miss , some reps can do it while others refuse or say can't . I prefer to negotiate and stay with them because never experience drop outs, has 4g back ups, easy to reachout for help as well.

      • Residential or business?

        • Residential.

    • Tangerine was pretty terrible for me on Fttn. Tried again on fttp, still terrible lol. A lot of drop-outs and slow speeds. But I'm in WA so over east might be different

    • I've used Tangerine twice now, one in a townhouse and currently in another house, after they completed a FTTP connection, both cases have no issues. I've had mixed results with different providers on the same property. I have yet to try swoop as a comparision

Was happy with Swoop, switched to Leaptel when my discount expired but would have no qualms going back again

  • +1

No issues to report. Seamless transition and support has been pretty quick.

  • Does the FINDERxx code stack with the referral credit? i.e. NBN 100/20 = $54/month?

    • Nope can't stack code. Tried today

      • @HappyPants said he was able to stack referral by giving them a call

      • Please PM me.

    • Tried today and called, they can’t be stacked.

      • Based on emanresu’s suggestions, I stacked the referral code on top of the regular discount - 250/25 for $64/month (79 - 15 referral) is a great deal. Connection was up and running in a few hours and has worked great so far

        • Through the website? I didn't have any luck. Even tried calling and they said it wasn't possible for this deal.

@KingQuokka: Basically you don’t complete the sign-up process online (add the usual finder discount code), then click “save order” and close the browser tab. Afterwards you should get a phone call from Swoop (ignore that), and then you should get an email. Respond to the email saying that you didn’t complete order because you couldn’t stack the referral code. The business rep should be able to take care of stacking the referral code. (At least that’s what happened with my order; YMMV)

            • @smokeymr: How soon did you get the email? Done this and not got an email yet.

              • @fishgumme: Wasn’t that long - may be 1 hour at most (and definitely less than 2 hours). Got the phone call first almost immediately.

                • @smokeymr: I've waited a day still no email, might try it again.

            • @smokeymr: bummer - i was told "Unfortunately, it has to be one or the other."
              oh well

  • After I typed address, price became $84 with Promotion $35/mth off. any idea?

    • Same here - seeing $84 with the LESS35 code suggested.

I am also assuming that using the referral would lead to another $15 off - ie $64 pm for the 250/25 ($69 for my case). Can anyone confirm?

      • Cannot stack referral code with the discount code. Its either one of them. At least thats what i have noted.

        • +1

Thanks mate. just sent you a PM.

    • $84 for me on the 250/25 plan as well.

    • Try this link, 250/25 plan for $74.

      • Comes up as $79 - which is better than the $84

        • Sorry, typo.

        • How do you stack the referral code? Did you call in?

  • Cgnat opt out and ipoe. Great option for churning.

  • .y time with leaptel is coming to an end with discount monthly promotion period . I know I need to do something with the wifi but lately I've have a lot of service interruptions which has been annoying. The worst lasted for a day and a half so I'll be leaving them as soon as I get the modem thing sorted . The signal just isn't strong enough inside the house , I'm still keen on Eero 6+ .

  • How are you getting these prices? It's $74 for me for the 100/20.

But anyway, I hope it's stackable with the referral code which gives you an extra $15 per month for 6 months.

    • +1

Same, all three referral codes I tried were not recognized, code FINDERxx was also not recognized, only code Less20 was valid.
Edit: If you use this link, it will work.

    • Even i cant seem to understand how its working. Either they have changed pricing now or the code has changed.

Can confirm though, that you can either get the discount code or referral code but cannot stack both together.

When i first searched it did show me $79 for the 250 plan, but when I refreshed and searched it changed to $84. Hopefully it reverts back to $79 for it to make more appealing.

      • Can confirm though, that you can either get the discount code or referral code but cannot stack both together.

@HappyPants said he was able to stack referral by giving them a call

      • Sent you a pm

      • Not sure how to pm in Ozbargain but if you can please pm me details, it will be great.
        100/20 shows $69 to me.

        • tried, but you turned off accepting new messages

          • @eman resu: Not knowingly. Please try again, i did change some preferences

  • Am I the only one who feels like these prices aren't THAT great?

SuperLoop have 250/21 for $99/m normally and $85 for the first 6 months.

Personally, I'm not in the game of churning every 6 months, so I'd much rather than lower continuing price.

    • That's an employee code, so they might start verifying customer eligibility at some point?

  • Need a partner code to go along with the promo

  • These guys also have a whistlout offer running in parallel, which is more generous as it offers a greater variety of speeds including fixed wireless. The difference was in the legal terms sheet where it also had an additional benefit which said you could switch between plans (those on special) in the 6mths without losing the discount. Nb: unless i clicked through from finder or whistleout their referer code was lost (ad blocking disabled) i got the higher price which people are complaining about above. Anyway funny to see a post on the same day I went through this myself. I opted for 100/20 $69 as I churned from Pronto who were great ($59 where I was told prices are to increase)

  • anyone going on the 250mbps plan they cap download at 240mbps you will never get higher that what their technical support said. It's the way they designed it so looks like its being shaped. Where as superloop on same plan is 270mbps

    • I just moved from superloop 1000/50, never had a speed over 240. For $64 a month for 6 months I wont be complaining

      • I'm looking to move to the same plan. May I ask how your experience has been so far? Which city are you in and how's the ping and latency? Do you game at all?

        • been great so far. Switch happened this morning at 6am. I play diablo and no delays.

      • Can you please help me get $64 for 1000/50? To me it shows $119 in VIC - Postcode 3030

  • for 100 - dodo offer is: $68.90/mth for the first 12 months, then $88.90/mth.

    • to be honest, not sure why i am being downvoted - is Dodo a bad ISP or something?

  • Can someone provide the Referrer code ? TIA

    • You can click the referral links at the top and get a random referral code. If that code doesn't work with Swoop, then PM me and I can send you mine

  • Can someone provide the Referrer code and their name? The one I got from the random link is no longer with swoop
    TIA

      Sent you one
