Why don't you think so? Especially for $22?
The problem with Starfield is that this game is just plain boring. Playing it felt like a chore so I just stopped 8 hours in. Hell even Fallout 76 at launch was more fun than this. Skyrim in space this is not
Agree. The game is so generically boring, theres no point in playing it. Its like they asked chat gpt to make a generic space fps game. Like eating a bowl of plain white rice. Yes it will keep you alive but there is zero interest in it.
@DiscoJango: Compared to some of the regurgitated trash out there, you'd be surprised how hungry I would be for a bowl of plain white rice.
@Sikarion: Time to explore indie games
They should use to resource to do TES6 instead.
Was unplayable for me.
Game was consistently freezing for 2 seconds throughout playing like every 30 seconds. My PC is definitely above spec requirements. They need to optimise it.

It'll be worth it when it's around $10 for me
As Wiede said it's extremely boring. None of the characters or the story intrigued me and nothing really pulls you back in to keep playing it.
I really tried hard to continue playing it, hoping for a turning point that never came and gave up.
I hated the controls. I kept ejecting from the pilots chair by mistake.
yep even pirating the game did not make it fun.
I know right! I apologised to my computer for making it work to download it…
I got Fallout 76 for free from Prime and feel the same way. All that annoyance faffing about with the terrible Microsoft store, and then it turned out to be so bad I still felt ripped off.
And I have probably 500-800 hours in Fallout 4 and Fallout NV combined, and have played all the numbered Fallouts.
I got it for free as I was building a business PC for someone and it came as a redeem code with the CPU I bought. Even for free I can't recommend, tried a few enhancement mods but the game was still so boring to me.
Having the game be made up of auto generated planets separated by a bunch of loading screens really goes against everything I enjoy in Bethesda open world games. I want detailed hand crafted maps, the game would be way better if it was just 3 planets or something small like that you could explore and it was hand crafted areas rather than massive open wastelands separated by the same repeated bases and props you have seen on every other planet.
Space pirates!
Agree, in my opinion, it is not worth a try unless someone already had Gamepass subs.
Ive played it on Gamepass (which since lapsed).
I'll happily pay $22 for the game.
Same, I'm looking forward to picking up where I left off (where my Gamepass ran out) deciding whether to support Crimson Fleet or SysDef
Romancing Sarah Morgan & Andreja was probably the only interesting thing in the game lol
You only have limited time to play game, last thing you want to do is waste it on sub par game. Upvoted because it's discount price but not gonna buy though
I mean for $22 its pretty fun, but only good if you don't have, say Balatro or Slay the Spire/ the actual good games at that price.
Ive got crapload of unplayed (much better) steam games in library still lol
Or No Man's Sky
Same answer as for Star wars outlaw: I got a way too big backlog on actually (or likely) good games to be tempted to buy this, even at this price.
What kind of GPU do you need to run this game at 60fps (full HD)?
Gtx 1080 or a 4060 on 1080p
Hmm I only have a 2060…
Just lookup "2060 + your CPU starfield benchmark" on YouTube. You'll find one
Hey, why would you even ask if a 2060 can run any "new" game 1080P 60fps.
@Diddz: Pretty sure a 2060 can run Diablo 4 at 1080p 60fps.
CPU is going to be your bottleneck for Starfield, especially in cities, though patches have definitely improved performance since launch.
Full 60fps? NVIDIA DGX-2
For that price - get a month of GamePass Ultimate and play something that's fun
And if you are desperate to try starfield, it's available on gamepass
nahfield
I tried real hard to like this game but ultimately it was the biggest let down of 2023.
Why are we mailing boxes with steam keys in them……
I'm not?
I think replaying Horizon Zero Dawn, (yes also kind of a waste of time) with the remastered improvements will be more enjoyable than this.
The standard edition of ZD was but also got a bit boring too, I must have done too many side quests maybe.
I feel the frozen wild made it much more interesting with the extra environment and story.
If that was the shamen story I've only done a small part of that. Good to know.
I enjoyed it for what it was. Quests were enjoyable, some more then others but the pirate one was my favorite. Ship building was fun. Base building not so much. Biggest let down was the exploration.
Price is tempting me,
Yet the game isn't.
Great game and bargain at this price, definitely worth buying. I really like it.
I bought it just cause it's a steam key. Played it on gamepass
I think people’s perception of the game would have been much better if they didn’t include all the barren, repetitive planets.
Quality over quantity would have elevated the game and subsequent scores.
All we can really hope for is that AI wlll do a better job than this procedurally generated crap.
EB Games have just slashed the price to $88. OMG What a bargain!
https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/pc/240256-starfieldHmm tempting BC although does sound bad for now, I bet they improve upon it in the future…
How?
Yeah I know the base game is meh, but they can improve around the edges by adding more content that's not dull. At this price… I wouldn't pay anymore than that though..
Worth a shot to me if under $25, I love space games, but each to their own..
Any content they add will be in the form of a DLC.
Any content they add will be minimum effort and minimal investment financially.
Any content that's not dull will be done by modders.
Modders are not looking at Starfield.
@Evanlet: it's the classic Bethesda method - release a bad buggy game and let modders fix it
https://creations.bethesda.net/en/starfield/all
Mod community seems to have taken an interest, and thanks to Bethesda many are even useable on Xbox
It wont improve, they already released the DLC and it took everything bad about the game and amplified it.
I think the game is ok for the first 40 hours though. After that you start to notice the repetition and characters going nowhere.
$20 ISH for a bit over 40 hours potentially. Worth a punt…
I think no man's sky is a much better option
Yeah I reckon, I still don't have that… Wonder how much $ it is these days…
It's regularly on half price, that's the most I've seen
Exploring some of the planets can get boring but playing the missions/storyline is pretty decent.
At least with mods now you can make exploring easier as well. (Land vehicles and shuttles).
~$20 is a good buy imo
Game is decent If you treat it as a linear game and ignore all the procedurally generated stuff
Surely we can mod it with third party stuff. Xmc has some nice reviews on YT.
Moment of silence who bought this for$2000
$21.95 + Delivery
It seems a bit wasteful to be burning fuel in order to deliver a cd-key in a box in 2024, but that's just my opinion.
Sure, but they made physical cases to sell on the shelves of EB etc. This is clearance of stock which didnt sell since the game didnt do as well as expected.
Either liquidate on Amazon or landfill it.Anyway, some like having the cases / boxes even if they are just shelf candy.
This or genshin impact?
What mods are people using at the moment?
Good deal but buy Mass Effect trilogy instead if you haven’t already. Legendary edition is $13.49 at the moment on steam. Mass Effect is IMO the best space RPG trilogy in gaming history. As many have said playing Starfield to me felt like paying my boss to go to work.
Especially since Starfield's intro mission mystery is a near identical copy of Mass Effect's intro mission mystery, except Mass Effect did it 50x better.
Near identical copy, 50 times worse 🤔
Why downvote then?
Bethesda says this game has 16x the value of any games
?
Bethesda says this game has 16x the value of any games
Link?
16 times the detail
I dont get why developers think that making a game bigger, full of bland open spaces, in this case 16 x bigger, makes it better.
$30 including delivery
$45 now…damn dynamic pricing. Thank goodness government banned it for concert tickets. Now go after Amazon!
Played this for a couple of hours then completely questioned my life choices… decided to go to university instead.
dang i missed out
no you didn't
Be real, Skyrim any good? Sex mod saved it, that's all
I have finished this game on GamePass (using cheats and trainer). At $22, I think it is worth it. It's an average game, however I am disappointed with its graphics despite it is GPU intensive. Would I replay the quests again? No.
Is this for sure a key only?
I bought Skyrim from EB (GoTY, but before Legendary Edition)
It was a steam key that needed to be activated on Steam but it still came with a disc you could install it from.
Can confirm it is just a Steam key in a box. No disc.
The game is a 123.5GB install so you would need to ship it on 15x 8gb dvd9 discs if you wanted to include the discs in the box. I can't imagine how many hours it would take to install that. So no, just a Steam key for this one.
It's much better with some mods to skip over cutscenes, better jetpack to travel quicker etc.
Unfortunately not, even at that price. YMMV.
