      • What month is your last year's half price subscription scheduled to renew? And did you cancel beforehand, or is it just set to autorenew and they have posted the fact the autorenewal is 50% off again? Thanks. (My subscription ends in Dec with the renewal auto-set for January - currently showing full price. Wondering if I should cancel now and then might get an offer to renew closer to renewal time).

        • +1

Was finishing end of this month. Did not cancel - it was set to autorenew. It says - "You've got half-price for a second year, your discount will be applied automatically when your annual subscription renews". Sorry. No idea of renewals for accounts renewing later on…
I did not have to cancel to get this one. It just shows up in the EverydayRewards - Account >> Everyday extra.

          • @virtuallife: OK thanks - that is very clear and helpful. Will wait and see and keep an eye on the subscription closer to renewal. Cheers for the info.

  • Will wws long expiry plan still have 10% discount each month after my next recharge next year?

    • Given the long expiry plans all state "Please note: This plan does not include the 10% off your shop offer." that seems unlikely.

      • It used to… a couple of years ago. It seems like the good times are gone.

  • +20

Instead of Woolies and Coles carrying on with all these points and memberships rubbish - it would be nice to just have cheaper prices for everyone.

""The irony is that by signing up to a program, consumers are simply helping the supermarkets tap into their buyer psychology and market to them more intensively,"

"The costs to the consumer in this sense are both economic (through heightened potential overspending), as well as intangible (consumers are inadvertently opening themselves up to greater marketing manipulation)."

That's not something that will happen soon.
In the meantime, we just try to save money by taking advantage of every discount we can get.
By the way, I'm not sure why Coles isn't offering a yearly subscription.

      • +1

Well of course it won't happen whilst people keep signing up and getting sucked into the fake-savings of loyalty programs.

Go shop at Aldi is the simple solution for most.

        • +5

I found that fruit and vegetables aren’t cheaper at all. Some are even more expensive.

        • +2

I found that you scrounge around and save a few cents off a comparable product that is lower in quality, then get slugged with a card fee when paying.

          • @1989jdm: Right. You don't pay card fees at Colesworths. I use discounted GCs anyway.

        • Well even Aldi is trailing a loyalty program currently with the intention to roll out internationally.

        • Things are not better at aldi. It's different brands and the savings are not consequenntial. There are singe veggies you don't get.

        • *cucked

    • Is that what Costco do since the beginning of era? Pay to shop

    • +1

it would be nice to just have cheaper prices for everyone.

      it's called Aldi

The irony is that by signing up to a program, consumers are simply helping the supermarkets tap into their buyer psychology and market to them more intensively

Depends, they're not too bright. we have several loyalty cards, Coles are particularly easy to exploit. just cycle through the cards, favour one for a few weeks, then buy occasional small shops & they'll send you an offer like $50/wk for 4wk gives you $50 points. then suddenly we get an offer on the first card.

    • Subscriptions are a healthy side hussle money for businesses during tough times. Look at Costco and how much they make in the subscription model. To the point that they'd rather you piss off and not enter the store at all if you're not subscribed.

  • +4

Easily worth it at $35. Just spend $30 once a month at WW and you're ahead.

  • I used to shop mainly at WW until they raised the Extra fee. Now they try to pull me back lol

  • Signed up 2 days ago… damn it

    • Cancel your subscription and it will still be active for the month you paid for. Then purchase the $35 yearly plan once your active subscription finishes. The offer is available from Wednesday, 6th November to Wednesday, 18th December 2024.

That is if you didn't buy the yearly plan 2 days ago and got a monthly plan instead lol.

      • I bought the yearly plan but I'm still in the 30 day free period. Might work?

        • I too signed with the 30 day trial which leads to the yearly plan. Just cancelled it and it says my end date is 5th December, so I think if your situation is like mine then it'll work after the end date?

  • Are the monthly freebies worth it?

    • +2

Some of the freebies I got are
      cooking oil
      mentos
      t-shirt
      crackers

      • As a member - Is there a minimum amount for purchases (per month or per shop) to qualify/ receive the freebies?

Does a member even have to purchase anything per given month to get the freebies?

        • No minimum spend to receive the free items. I've received them on family members' accounts that almost never get used.

  • What is better value the Woolies or Coles reward scheme/system? or is there something better?

    • +2

      Farming and fishing

    • +1

Mix is the best if you have spare time and effort

    • I personally find Woolies rewards scheme better than Flybuys. Flybuys is utter crap and the OnePass is also utter crap.

  • Anyone know what the account is linked to ( phone or email) I want to get a second subscription.

    • Phone

      • I want to have a third account, but I’m not sure whether my brain can handle managing three accounts.

        • +1

Partner and I have three. It works well with a baby (now toddler), average $150 spend per week so combined with some mobile and insurance 10% off, we have the option every week of the month for us.

Always wait for the $35 subscription if one expires, 3x the "free" stuff (which in some cases ends up being 3 different items) and lots of different points offers, etc. across all 3.

          • @Apostle0748: hey, can you share how this works? Are the points all linked to the same quantas account? Do you just need 3 mobile numbers to do this?

        • Just saw this and I felt the same way… I’ve got three accounts and what I do is add reminders for everything. For example we do our shopping on a Sunday and I have a reminder set up for each Sunday to do each account. I’ve also got every day extra so I actually Have four discounts. I personally like being super organised so I’ve got a good system in place if anyone wants to ask any further questions.

PS I use Siri so apologise if there’s any mistakes in that text 🤣

    • I thought that my WW acc was link to my everyday rewards account

  • I am on trial, should I cancel in hopes to get this deal? 😂

  • It's saying I have to use a free trial then 70 dollars a year though.

    • Where does it say that?

  • Hi all. Not sure if this has been Asked. Is the 10% off at woolies stackable with the wow mobile discount?

    • No it doesn't. I have the same combo.

      • someone claim to have 4 of 10% discounts on first page. When you say its not stackable, does it mean u still have two 10% a month from that combo?

        • +1

I have two 10 percents I can use separately that both reset at the start of the month (my mobile plan is billed middle of the month). I can only use one code per transaction so I can do two shops at 10%. IIRC you can do an extra online shop with the rewards extra code semi dodgy. Just the one big W code though from the actual rewards extra.

As for the x4 codes they may be running two separate accounts (my wife and I do this).

  • Nice, hope for a similar deal for delivery unlimited aswell.

  • Can you pick when to use your 10% off?

    • +2

Yes, every time you check out it asks if you want to use it or not.

      • Thanks

  • Has anyone tried to use extra online and In store? It always worked before so I got twice 10% a month at Woolies, but somehow when I shopped in store (after shopped online) I didn't get the 10% prompt for last month and this month. Wondering if they fix the bug?

    • It worked for me last month (October). Used online early in the month, and then later in the month used in-store.

      • Thanks for the info. It worked online and in store for my wife 's account too for Oct. Yet to try this month, but mine wasn't working in store today :(

        • It didn't work for me either in September

        • In the other thread several people reported that this loophole stopped working for them in October.

          • +1

            @Chris T: Confirmed not working.

Did a shop online early in the month and applied the 10% discount code. Went in store yesterday and wasn’t prompted for 10% off at checkout :(

  • I know this offers starts in 2 days, but seeing others already having their app show 50% off has me a bit worried.

I think I may of played myself here. I did an annual sub back in August 2023 when they had a mediocre deal with sign-up points. I cancelled it before renewal and then went to monthly sub, which I cancelled last month thinking they would be running a Black Friday special again.

And viola they have a 50% Black Friday promo but my app is still showing full $70 annual price plan. Hopefully the $35 plan shows as of 6/11/2024. Fingers crossed for this frugal OzBargainer.

    • Edit: $35 annual plan option is now showing - sweet!

  • Question.
My current subscription ends on the 7th and I already used 10% discount for this month. I will cancel it and won't renew.
My question is that if I subscribe at $35/yr on the 10th (as an example), do I get another 10% for this month?

  • This or OnePass?

    • +3

Both to be honest (when on special though).

Edit: if I must only pick one however, for me it would be this - I get more out of it.

      • Thanks.

  • -2

Do they think we're stupid enough to fall for this half price bs?

    Ooo might get it

  • Do the 2x rewards points stack with the 2x rewards points from unlimited delivery subscription? For effectively 4x points?

Thinking of doing the half price annual unlimited delivery subscription from here

Be amazing if they do stack!

  • Can I create a new account for this?

  • Def will be getting this if I can get two x 10% off per month with my current Rewards Mobile plan.

I can easily save another $35/year let alone those freebies and double points.

  • +3

This deal has started now, price is showing as $35 for the first year.

    https://www.everyday.com.au/extra.html

    • +1

      Yep! Thanks!

  • Dang, my account ends Dec 1st and I don't seem to be able to get this to apply. If I select the offer, it skips into my account with just the normal renew button for $70.

edit: I just noticed the date this offer ends, just need to wait it out!

    • I have an active subscription until next month, and I have this, “Get Everyday Extra half-price. Reactivate your subscription at $35 for a second year.”

I see this in my Rewards App > Account > Everyday Extra.

      • Not for me it seems, I just have reactivate at the standard price.

But then I apparently paid full price last year. So maybe it's that they've pegged me for a sucker (because I am, I'll hand in my ozbargain badge on the way out).

Fortunately come December 1st mine will become inactive and I should be able to try again.

  • +1

It says, “New and returning subscribers only.+”.
I just wonder, who else is not!

    • +1

People with an active subscription (e.g. the commenter above you).

      • I have an active subscription until next month, and I have this, “Get Everyday Extra half-price. Reactivate your subscription at $35 for a second year.”

  • perfect timing, existing sub cancelled and paid to 16 Dec, will resubscribe to this on 17 Dec

    • My timing couldn’t be worse. My subscription ends 28 Dec :(

  • +1

Remember to join using referral for extra 1500 ER points
joining via referral will have the same $35 extra for the first year

  • +1

To double dip on the extra 10%, I always place my first order of the month online via direct to boot, and then next time when you go instore, you can use the same 10%.

    • Really, how does this work? Do you need to go in store within a day or two or does it last longer than that?

      • +2

the code works anytime within that month. Just that the first order has to be online. The instore system aren't smart enough yet to catch the code use online. Thus when you go offline the next time, you get a prompt to use the 10% discount during checkout

        • awesome, thanks for this!

  • So just to confirm - I'm currently on an annual subscription til December.

Do I cancel my membership, and then I should see an option to renew at $35 for the annual subscription?

  • +2

Don't forget referral links everyone thanks for the post!

  • Is it worth the $35? The ‘free items’ from wollies is a small cheap item like a packet of chips, biscuits or a small chocolate bar

    • +2

Easily if you use the 10% off grocery feature and take the free items

  • Re-signed at half price after I made sure I cancel my auto renewal at end of October this year.
