Yeh i think I would rather not have over 900 dishwasher tabs in my house to get the price down to 10c a wash on an average tab.

    • The word people in marketing make it sound good tho lol.

    • That test was also based on a 15 tablet packet for $22 for their cost per unit value rating. I reckon the % might be higher based on this 132 tablets for $15.

      • +4

Probably not much. Choice scores it scores worse than Woolworths shine dishwasher powder across every metric.

        • +1

Noted thanks. Didn't look into it that far. We rinse before stacking dishwasher so not a huge deal for me.

We rinse before stacking dishwasher so not a huge deal for me.

No need, unless you're doing things very wrong

    • +1

Aldi powder scored 47% and people rave about it…

  • +1

    Are they grey imports?

  • +1

They look like grey imports so probably wash even worse than the normal morning fresh ones that choice rated poorly.

  • How much do the regular Logix one at aldi work out to be? I just buy those, works great

    • probably work out cheaper than these as at least with the Aldi ones you don't have to wash everything twice.

  • +11

This is one of those penny wise pound fool type of deals. Three plus years' worth of supply of underperforming dishwasher tablets. Cursing yourself every day after taking the dishes out? Washing twice and wasting $0.60 in extra electricity to justify cheap tablets…. Yeah, nah!

    • Hope you're still coping mate, can one with this much experience suggest a suitable alternative?

      • I have had good result with the 1kg bottle Woolies Shine Dish washing powder,

there might be something even better than this out there, but this does clean my dishes well enough, and it cost nearly nothing. ~25g each wash of 1kg , like 8 cents per wash.

  • +2

Oh you can just use powder https://www.coles.com.au/product/coles-ultra-dishwasher-conc… for about 5-8c per wash depending how much you use

No need for rinse aid either to be honest

Works well on short 30 min cycles too

    • Do you not get white residue from the powders? I find we do often and it annoys the bleep out of me lol

      • +1

I see white bits on the aldi ones, but not on woolies shine ones.

Just bought the 3 pack for $15 - With one pass its free delivery and works out only 11.4c per tablet, worth trying without being stuck with 900 Tabs,

  • +1

I always applied dishwasher powder as detergent because you could adjust amount of detergent according to your load into the machine.

Also, much more cheaper than tablets or gel or capsules

  • -1

Honestly if you have a good dishwasher, choose appropriate setting, no different type of quality tablets will make a difference.

Also if you are throwing in crap that can't fit in the drain doesn't help either.

I normally do a 30 min quick cycle if just plates and cups.

    • Choice have extensively tested this and it's not true at all - the detergent matters a lot.

  • OOS

  • Woolworths - Shine dishwashing tablets (100 @ 12.80 / 12.8c per wash) is my new go to:

They've been working well for me, the powder not so much - the dishes aren't as clean. Used to use the 110k pack from chemist warehouse at 16.99 - but they've gone up. Cost basis per wash is less than Aldi too!

  • If you want something environmentally friendly, yet effective, I suggest Skipper. Works out to about 40c ea which I can afford every couple of days.

  • Received the item today. Bought 2, expexting 6 pack but only 2 arrives. Called Catch, this was a listing error, refunded.

    • i assume you return the products if you want the refund, do they cover your postage costs?

    • Did you return the tablets?

      • I think they said something like one time exception to not have to return them.

  • I gotta ring too. Received only 2 x 44

    • +4

Received full refund. No need to return tablets.

  • order cancelled before shipped - Got Refund- back to PayPal

  • I got 1x 44.

    What the eff!

    • Same here, requested return, awaiting response

  • Received partial refund . Bought 7 , no need to return.

  • +1

Received 44 instead of 132 tablets. Called and refunded without having to return them.

Glad actually because they smell sort of rank.

    • Received mine about an hour ago. Same issue, 1 arrived. smells awful. Applied for refund

  • Received 7 packs, should have been 21. Full Refund :)
    — No requirement to send back the 7 packs.

My wife uses catch, i haven't used it for years but its definitely a +1 that i would be more inclined to use them again

  • received 1 pack yesterday, called up and got refund and get to keep it.
used it for the first time today, pretty impressed with it, and does not smell when the wash was done.

  • Got 7 packs in place of 21. Got a partial refund.
    Yet to use it.
