Can you stack with Everyday Extra 10% off?

  • +6

I prefer the 8bitdo ultimate. But this is a good price for it.

Good call, wouldn't buy any controller without hall effect sticks in 2024.

      End stick drift!!!

  • Grabbed a genuine one after the Amazon one wasn't quite right. Worth the extra ($69 target with the $10 off but big W good).

Love these. But I'll forever be dirty on the joycon drift horsesht.
So they'll never make-good on crappy products?

    • Those were the joycons and nothing contact cleaner couldn't instantly fix

      • +4

joy cons have the bad design with L n R buttons too the wiring breaks

      • +1

        I could've made myself clearer.
I love these, but hate buying more products from a company that ignores major issues with their products. I've got 4 pairs of joycons with issues. Family play is plagued by frustration.
I've read discussions of kits/hardware to repair, I believe. But nothing guaranteed. And my list of unfinished projects is (diagnosed) as out of hand.

        • I agree the design has flaws and it is pretty crap you need to use contact cleaner to keep them working.

I've had my original joycons since launch. I know at one point you could send them to Nintendo to be fixed for free but given what they make a free replacement would have been a good gesture.

Pro controller seems to be pretty solid though.

  • How does this compare to the $25 kmart controller? I have the kmart one and I find it difficult to control and the vibration is too strong

You're comparing a cheap 3rd party controller compared to an official Nintendo made one, aside from the OEM joysticks on like all modern controllers, you really can't compare the two.

      • I'm trying to justify whether it's worth paying almost 3x more for. Understand that anything officially made usually comes with a heftier price tag, but is it worth the money?

        • You already said it's hard to control and that the vibration is too strong on your cheap one, you won't get that problem with an official one is what I'm trying to get at. There's generally a reason that official ones cost more, they generally put more stuff inside compared to cheap 3rd party ones.

  • Will this work with an iPad and/or PC?

    • +2

yes with iPad not sure about PC. you can even pair the Joy con with iPad too.

I almost bought this controller for iPad but got Xbox core controller instead.

      • PC will work wired or via bluetooth but is very awkward. Some games have native support, some will think it's a PS controller and some won't respond at all. For games like that SpecialK or BetterJoyForCemu is the way to go.

        • ok zero issues with iPad I heard. I don’t have a pc that can play games.

can’t remember exactly but I think Apple update provided support for all the Bluetooth console controllers so they are recognised properly.

    • Yes, I think (?)
but took me endless messing about with steam, and an 8bitdo USB adaptor

    Any good tofu deals? 😅

Pro Controller 2 within 12 months right, with the Switch 2?

    • +1

i heard people said that 5 years ago, then 4, then 3 years ago…. and then 2 years ago and now

  • +1

Reckon these will work on Switch 2?

let me get my crystal ball out

      • Add an ‘S’ to one of the words there

    • I can guestimate with 200% accuracy a yes.

Good alternative, might have to wait for shipping from China, but it has the much more resilient hall effect sticks:

      cheers for this alternative

  • Great timing for son’s birthday! Thanks OP! Got one!

  • Not available for delivery RIP

  • 7 years in and this controller has barely dropped in price!
$69 is better but still…got it for $59 (Amazon) in 2018

Wonder if switch 2 pro controller will have an audio jack and an amiibo reader included as well.

    • +1

Don't know about an audio jack, but I don't think they're going to be taking out a feature that's already in existing Switch Pro Controllers.

      • Amiibo trend seems largely dead - I wouldn’t be surprised if they removed it on switch 2

        • Possible, but Nintendo has still been reissuing older amiibo multiple times this year alone, so clearly there has been both supply and demand for them.

  • My click and collect order got cancelled.

  • How's your protege Katagiri Kanata doing???

  • Thanks op bought and collected it with additional 5% big w gc from nrma

  • The swapping of the B & A button layouts between microsoft & nintendo causes my medulla oblongata much confusion.

  • Great price. Didn't buy because we already have 4 controllers, but only one of this one. It's the one that gets used all the time over the others for the last 2 yrs. No drift yet.

Best feature over all the others is the massive battery this comes with (1300 mAh vs 600 of some generics ones). No need to recharge so frequently compared to others (sometimes once every 1-2 weeks!)
