Anyways, great deal for a full powered 4080 rig. Omen 17 is an older design, so no 16:10 screen nor anything fancy of the sort. It being old however, also does mean there is no black screen issue that plagues the 23' intel based Omen 16s.
In addition, far more than most 13700HX (which should also be in here) is on c0 stepping and is of last (12th gen) architecture, this would mean that performance scaling over most wattage actually isn't as good as a 'lower end' 13650HX, however it also does mean you don't get that silicone degradation issue that plagues proper 13th gen chips (that includes these '-HX chips' - repurposed desktop chips masquerading as laptop ones)
Yes cooling isn't exactly Legion Pro 7i level, but nothing an undervolt (available only to -HX chips nowadays, sorry your ultra 9 is going to have to stay hot) can't fix. Also raise the bottom of the laptop up - thank me later with this one. (yes, even bottlecaps would do)
