  • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/tag/activity-tracker - anything from Garmin in your budget with your desired features and positive reviews. Unless she owns an iPhone/Samsung and would specifically like to have an Apple Watch/Galaxy Watch.

    What features does she need?

  • get smart band if just for step counting. battery last long, cheaper, lighter, smaller, good for females

  • You can get Casio ABL-100WE-1A (low end) to Apple Watch Ultra 2 (high end), its all depend on what she need/budget etc.

  • Is her phone iOS or Android? Does she need/want a sim-enabled watch?

  • parkrun barcode

It looks like there's an app for Garmin.

For any other smartwatches, maybe just take a screenshot of the barcode and make a simple watch face with that image in the background. Then you just switch watch faces when you finish.

I think many older people would prefer longer battery life and dislike to recharge every day. Either Garmin or any smartwatches that can add the barcode screenshot at least as a watch face.

I have a garmin forerunner, forget which model. Does what she needs. Good for tracking activities and showing your stats while moving and also comparing against past efforts etc. .

Works well, lasts for a week without too much tracking/logging.

  • Depending on her eyesight, I'd recommend a slim band/body. I tried to get my mum a cheapo 45mm and it was kind of too bulky for little old woman wrists.

my mom only weighs 43kilo, I think a very slim band is best for her
