Shell Coles/Reddy Express - "Buy 5 Coffees, Get 1 Free" Offer

Shell Coles/Reddy Express previously had a simple "buy 5 coffees, get 1 free" offer where you only needed to swipe your Flybuys card.

Now, they've changed it—after buying 5 coffees, you receive an email with a voucher. To redeem the free coffee, you have to save this email, and the barcode needs to be scanned.

The issue is my non-techy husband, who buys the coffees, used to just swipe the card. Now, I have to upload the voucher and send it to him, which feels like a total waste of time.

Does anyone else find this unnecessarily complicated? Why couldn’t it just apply automatically with the Flybuys swipe?

    Welcome to the Digital Age! Unfortunately just the way it is, everything now via an app and being tracked. It is unfortunately for the non-techy people, unfortunately my Grandparents in their 80s also struggle when it comes to all of this stuff, but sadly it is the way thing are moving forward.

    I hope your non-techy husband doesn't have a 3G reliant phone………

      That's how it was working before.

      I was using the app to track my purchases.

      Now you can't do that.

      They have gone backwards…

    It's not hard to convert non-techie to techie. All they need is a bit of motivation. Just tell them you do these steps to get free coffee, and they will after swearing for a bit over the time

    That's frustrating. The surprise of a free coffee was always good.

    There had been rumours they were going to get rid of it.

    I could be wrong, but I think this is only temporary while they do some technical backend stuff in regards to the rebranding of coles express to reddy express

    How do you know how many coffees you have left before the free one?

    The button to check is no longer in the app.

      Previously they'd be able tell you at the counter. We'll have to see if they still can.

    I’m not getting the emails from reddy express since the change was made for the free coffee at all. I’ve emailed them twice and no reply. I’m owed heaps!
