  • is it better than inseego?

    • Not sure, similar battery life. I read that inseego had exited Australia, so not sure if those devices are still supported.

5G modems are stupid expensive compared to 4G (like 5-10x more). Don't seem to be coming down in price.

      • Any recommendation for 4G?

Looks like it's 4G as well

  • Couldn't any 5G phone be used as a modem?

    • yes

    • idea is doesn't wear your mobile phone battery if used regularly, or if you need don't want to risk flattening your mobile phone. I have 4G ones, would love a 5G, but until $100 or less I will stick with 4G.

      • Which 4G do you have? How much? Link to buy?

        • I bought a used Samsung 5G modem on eBay last year for about $110 after all discounts. It's like new and works great. I just had to set up the APN to get it working.

      • I am interested in which 4g modem you are using as well? Thanks

    R U IO?

  • What about buying cheap 5G phone and using it purely as a modem / hot spot.
How much would the cheapest 5G phone be, surely OZBargain Collective could find a deal…? :)
    Any issues with that scenario?
