Apple Watch Series 10 GPS 42mm for 65,000 Pts (Other Apple Watches Also Available) @ Medibank Live Better App

160

A few weeks ago Medibank removed all their Apple Wearables and Trackers from the LiveBetter section in their App, in preparation of Apple's launch of new models.

Those new models have now gone live in the app, and you can utilise your LiveBetter Points to redeem them. Some examples of redemptions that are available are below:

Apple Watch SE GPS 40mm - 40,000 pts
Apple Watch SE GPS 44mm - 45,000 pts
Apple Watch Series 10 GPS 42mm - 65,000 pts
Apple Watch Series 10 GPS 46mm - 70,000 pts

Colours available are Rose Gold and Black.

There are a few other models available as well (including cellular if you require that, or the Ultra range).

Shipping is with StarTrack so the turnaround is pretty quick.

Sorry but this doesn’t really seem like a bargain to me. It’s in line with the pricing of everything else on their store …

If you have points just sitting in your account, you can now use them towards these latest release models without having to fork out cash (and no delivery fee).

Especially handy this time of the year leading up to Christmas.

Thanks, used my bonus 50k points plus some other challenges to get an LTE apple.watch and wireless earphones

Is there a way to transfer medibank points from one account to another?

    • +1

Yes, if both the members are under the same policy.

      • Thank you

      • Yes, if both the members are under the same policy.

same policy but different accounts, how is that possible? Tried to transfer from missus account to mine but didn’t work. (separated policies)

      • How to do that? Thanks

        • +1

There is an option to transfer points once you login through the browser. I have transferred multiple times in the past from my wife’s account to mine.
It takes 2-3 business days once you submit the request.

I got my AirPods Pro via their rewards. Postage was quick. But I think they’ve realised that they’re giving away too many points and in this month they’ve reduced the amount of challenges to redeem points with

    • +1

I’ve also noticed the point reduction the last month or so. Bit of a bummer!

    • Yep I have noticed this as well, however previously they used to have a cap on the number of points you could earn in a year, and I would normally hit that cap mid year and stop earning additional points, however this year don't seem to have hit the cap?

Not sure if it is because they removed the cap, or because there are less challenges now (maybe both?)

      • I think I read about the cap too, which was about 40000 points through challenges.

        • Yep, 40,000 per member. Points can be transferred between people on the same policy.

    • 100% I accumulated 100k points from the start of this year. Half of them were from the "challenges." When they first moved to the Medibank app, you only had to manually put that you completed the challenge for one week to get the points. Now they are stingy as.

    • Pretty sure these post direct from Apple.

      • Interesting. I wonder if that means you could swap for a variant they don’t offer (eg different size/style strap) in an Apple store

        • Ha, I tried this previously and they said no. As it's an online purchase I think you have to send it back to Apple (i.e. can't return in store), but because it's Medibank who sends it out you don't have a receipt as proof of purchase.

The colour range of the headphones and watches is the best it's been at the moment, e.g. Apple Watch Ultra and Airpods Max were only available in 1 colour previously, but now it's two. I'm pretty sure all sizes are available, so it's only strap colour you have limitations with.

          • @aliasneo2000: I really wanted the Titanium 10 with Milanese Loop so was hoping i could buy the ultra then change in Apple Store!

  • +1

wouldnt u better off just using points for extra weeks of premium?

    • That would be my first option yes… however if you have already done that you can use any additional points towards these accessories. I believe you can only use points to reduce your premium once every 365 days…

    • I'd say no based on the experience of a family member. Medibank stuffed up the redemption and claimed the money had been taken off the premium, but nothing had.

Wow they are really trying to make up for the data breach where everyone’s data got leaked on the dark web enjoy the watch please don’t sue us? Lol

  • +1

The Live Better reward program has been around for years. I've successfully claimed Apple watches and Airpods almost every year for the last 5. You used to be able to max out your points in ~3 months, however they seem to reduce the points and increase the difficulty in earning each year as the program becomes more popular. Now takes almost 12 months to max out. The full Apple Watch (limited colours), Airpods and Airtags range is available too for those interested.

    • Before some people just joined 3 months extra cover and paid about $100, claimed points then left.

  • I just switched to see-u to get topcashback deal and I’m actually in the market for apple watch 😅 is it worth to abandoned that deal and jump into this right away? Was thinking of waiting til cashback is available , which is in 2 months time.

Also, how many points is it for apple watch ultra 2, if someone could check for me please? Thanks in advance

    • +1

140,000 live better points for the Ultra 2, gonna take me another 2 years because of the stupid cap.

Also, they only appear to be offering the black ultra 2 atm.

      • I see.. and you wouldn’t be able to pay the difference, would you?

        • yep, no option to pay the difference at present….

      • Once you go black you never go back

  • Want the apple watch ultra but I'm still a long way away(only 85K points). Anybody redeemed for the ultra?
I'm a little annoyed they're not offering the titanium apple watch 10.

    • I was waiting for the titanium 10 too :( I have 150k points ready to go! As I already have the Ultra 1 I think I will end up with a black 10 for me and a rose gold for the fiancee

  • How are people getting so many points? I only ever have enough for a basic giftcard

    • Have earned 150k from challenges in just over 18 months (across mine and partner’s account). Just have to religiously do the challenges every week

      • What are the challenges? What do you have to do?

        • Just look in the app!

          • @digitalane: Ok just took a look but I don't really understand it. Do you just click them all complete? or do you need some kind of device and it gets data that way?

I just clicked 2 as complete and it says the goals are now complete. So is that what you do? and then it just keeps adding points to your account?

            • @pixxelpusher: You can pair up a smart watch - but you can also just say you did them and hit complete!

              • +1

@digitalane: Wow, wish I knew that a long time ago as I've never really payed attention to that side of things and thought the points were just from Dr visits or buying stuff. I don't have any smart tracking devices but I'll just hit complete from now on.

      • I just joined the program and I still don't see how you are able to earn that many points from one account (75k points). if you do the weekly challenges that comes to 15.6k (in 18 months) and I see 3 monthly challenges giving 200 points each so, 600 multiple by 18 is 10.8k. Total is 26.4k. Am I missing other challenges? Are there some months where they pay out higher points? Cheers

  • Was waiting on titanium 10 but no dice. Will get an Ali 10 cellular for me and my partner instead

  • Do the Live Better points expire?

  • +1

Thanks OP. I’ve been with Medibank private for over 30 years and I never knew about Live better points.
I don’t know how but Ive got 4000 points in my account to start with.

    • Same! Wish I knew all you had to do is login daily and hit complete on the tasks and they give you points.

  • I ordered the 40k Apple Watch SE on Friday afternoon and just received it this morning. My old Series 3 was getting really slow and needed regular reboots so this was a good way to upgrade. I did all the challenges, weekly activities as well as linking to store partners and earning extra points that way. I didn't realise I could transfer points though, might have been able to pinch the husbands points to get the Series 10 but too late now! When you're paying a small fortune every year for a family policy, it's nice to get something for "free"!

    • didn't realise I could transfer points though

      …to a different policy?

  • Was about to pull trigger on watch 10 46mm gps for 70k points. RRP is $429. You can redeem 25k pts for $200 premium Payment, so theoretical the watch should only be a bit over 50k pts. 70k pts is worth $560 in premium payment. So if I really want the watch more worthwhile to buy direct plus I get to choose colour and band. The. Redeem to premium payment? No?

    • The points match the rrp exactly 100 pts per $. If it’s 70k points it’s a 699 watch

You can’t get a 10 for 429. Sounds like you are looking at US prices

Ah you’re right, too late in the night. Must’ve tired
