[PC, Steam] Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth $57.47 (50% off) @ Steam

130

Just noticed Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Yakuza series) is finally on sale for a price pallatable to those allergic to paying more than $60 for a single game. If you've been holding out like me, now's a good time. Friends have been telling me it's (arguably) the best game in the entire series.

Also, if you don't care about a Steam return guarantee, you can save an extra $10 buying a code from GameBillet.

  • I thought this was gonna be a game pass game. Wonder what happened

    • I have no idea but I would guess they held out on this one because it was a "flagship" game. It's huge compared to the previous Like a Dragon turn-based game, which serves as a pipeline for sales of this one. That said, there's a good chance it'll hit XGP sometime in the future.

      • They dropped in Gaiden day 1

        • Yeah again, LAD Gaiden is closer to a DLC for the last game (in scope) than a flagship title. Plus the narrative in that acts as a bridge for Kiryu's arc between the two Ichiban games. Like I said, sales pipeline. I can see why RGG chose to keep this one off the all-you-can-play buffet menu.

      • I remember reading somewhere that the studio doesn't plan on ever releasing this on XGP. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I'm hoping it comes to game pass at the game awards.

Like a dragon came to game pass after around 7-8 months and was announced at Summer Games Fest

I really enjoyed this game. Only thing which led me to buy on Microsoft Store was to get PlayAnywhere between Xbox and PC.

It's also on sale on the playstation store. These promotions coincides with the new live action TV series that has just been released on Amazon Prime.

It's a real shame the Prime series looks trash :(
In my head, Tokyo Vice is the canon Yakuza TV series (high rec for Yakuza fans who haven't seen it)

Can confirm as a die-hard yakuza fan, the prime series should be avoided :(

The only good thing to come out of it was the live action Baka Mitai https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ghmiGxMNc4

Also, ty for Tokyo Vice rec, will def check that out! Unsure how I haven't heard of it before

As another die-hard fan, I couldn't not watch it, but after watching it, I have to agree with you, it was pretty bad. (hoping it gets better when the final 3 episodes are released, but doubtful)

I tried to like it, but it's like Jackie Chan's remake of Karate(Kong fu) Kid, They change enough of it with their creative liberties, and lose the essence of what makes it special.
