Posting our budget driftwood pieces today!

This lovely piece of driftwood is perfect for fish and shrimp alike! Great to attach moss to as well.

It is about 15-20cm tall and you will receive a selected piece, the second image shows examples of pieces you could get. If you would like a specific type or colour just leave a note!

Driftwood is great for plants, shrimp and fish alike, many bottom-feeders get essential minerals from the wood while sucking on plant matter that grows on its surface, and it has plenty of surface area for beneficial bacterial and more to grow and help balance your tanks ecosystem.

Who ever the Two blokes who negged you, for sure a total L in real life.

Yeah, a real winner would upvote and find it hilarious knowing that someone out there followed the advice and lost all their beloved pets to a parasite, fungus or disease.

Why you keep giving us negative comments instead of trying to help us. This is a community page, if you don't like it spend some ad money and market somewhere else. lol

If you'd like to risk killing all your fish and loose $1000nds of $ feel free!
You totally can though, if you pick up random wood its a good idea to boil it first before you add it in, and if you have a neuclear facility, gamma irradiate it like these as well :)

If possible leave it to dry in the sun for a few weeks too.

      Good luck!

There's also risks of your product killing all our fish.

        • +4

Of course! But i guarantee you its lower than picking up some random wood off the floor :)

To be clear, if the wood is well dried, and you boil and dry it again before adding it in there is not much risk. But if you live in the city and would rather not drive and spend time and fuel looking for something that is a bit more risky, feel free!

            @Brandingo:

But i guarantee you its lower

            How much lower?

            • +3

@jv: If you dry, boil and dry again not much lower. That will kill most things other than anything deep in the wood if you dont boil long enough.
And i suggest doing that to anyone with a forest outside their backyard.

This is great for anyone who earns more than $25 per hour though, or doesnt find boiling wood a chore i guess.

              • @Brandingo: I think jv is looking for a number.

Correct me if I'm wrong @jv

I doubt you have to sit and watch it boiling and drying…

                • +1

@jv: Thats true! Its a bit of a joke of course, if you live outside a forest that has these sort of pieces lying around it wont take long to pick one up and boil it.

Most of these aquascaping woods are from specific part of specific trees, these are actually mostly roots that have been dried and treated.

                  • -6

@Brandingo: So you think making fun of people who earn a certain amount per hour is funny? Seems a bit ironic considering you're choosing to post free adz on a community website for sharing bargains instead of paying somewhere else.

@WatchNerd: Mate, i run my own businesses: its the only way to legally get paid bellow mininun wage. 😉

Think its a bit of projection to think that was making fun of low-income earners. Wonder whats going on today, Ozbargainers usually have thicker skin 🤔

                      • -1

@Brandingo: So you're saying I don't have thick skin when your 1st reply to my comment was to make a personal attack & call me stupid even though you conceded in another comment that it's ok to do it.
                        Neg for gaslighting.

@WatchNerd: authority bullying - "Using their position or perceived expertise as leverage to intimidate others, which can be a form of authority bullying. This happens when someone with real or assumed power tries to control or demean others based on their role or knowledge, particularly if they use their “professional” status to dismiss, belittle, or push around those with less experience."
