PSA: New Car Fleet Pricing for Government and Not for Profit Employees

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Mods: there's no link or photo. This is more of a PSA than a deal as such.

Shopping around for a new car, a dealer that sold Mitsubishi, Nissan and Chery cars asked who my employer was. Thinking it was some kind of sales tactic, I asked for clarification. They said that government or not for profit employees receive fleet pricing. It is dependent on the model but it's up to $2000 without any haggling etc.

They said you just have a declaration form signed to confirm you're an employee. No payslips required etc.

Pity you would have to buy a Nissan, Mitsubishi or a Chery.

    • Or a boring overpriced Toyota.

  • Edit: the dealer said it's manufacturer specific, so worthwhile asking no matter the make or model

Real fleet price is a lot more than just $2,000 discount

  • This was quite common precovid. My employer had links with Subaru. For a while every second car in the work compound was a bloody Subaru. FFS.

Nothing wrong with Subaru, unless it’s the BZ4xWD-40 equivalent

      • They're ok but when there's so many in the carpark they become a bit meh!

Now the carpark is full of Tesla's. Boooooooring.

Oh no! People are making rational decisions about a car they use to commute - the horror!
