  • Cheers, got the chicken in gravy. This is the only cat food we get as it's the only brand and range that doesn't use carageenan as it's thickener.

    • What does carrageenan do to cats, if it's in almost every brand of cat food?

    • The second ingredient is wheat gluten though, not ideal for cats. The pate varieties have a suprisingly high amount of meat for this price point.

It's always questionable when something that advertises itself as fish, for example, has chicken as the main ingredient, which it doesn't even mention.

same price in woolies n u can mix different flavours.

  • OP the chicken is cheaper, plus both have 5% with the coupon.

Chicken $16.42 with the 5% coupon

Fish $18.24 with the 5% coupon

  • At $9.60/kg, would it be feasible to just make and portion meals for your cat yourself instead?

Genuinely curious. I don't have a cat, so no idea how this works

    • As with many things, yes. But many go for convenience, or just the idea that because its purpose is "cat food" it's the best option.

You gotta get the organs and other stuff to make it nutritionally complete I’m pretty sure, can’t just boil some chicken breasts and call it a day

      • Ah, gotcha

Chicken organs are regularly marked down to $3-4/kg where I shop, so it could be doable in theory. Dunno about fish organs, maybe if you asked your local fishmonger if they could keep some aside for you

  • Redditors will be happy!

  • Expiry dates can be short from Amazon.

  • Need Chunky Chicken Feast to make a comeback :(

      Isn't that from KFC .

      • Same supplier.

  • OOS however can still order at $19.20. No S&S though.

Since they changed the AU product to be sourced from Thailand instead of the US earlier in the year, my cats don't like it. Could be because they are just fussy, although I can't help but think the US product may be superior. I'm finding some old stock still around though and buying that while it lasts.

    • +2

Exactly the same with our cats. The gravy has also changed to a gelatinous yellow goo as well. Can't blame my cats for not wanting it now..

    • The US product has added flavours, the Thai ones don't. That might be the difference? Maybe try and blend the old and new stock together for a week to get them used to it.

Price matching Woolworths FYI. 80c a tin

  • I ordered both the pate and the grilled, grilled has a delivery estimate of Nox 12 - Nov 23. No date given for pate.
