My-Phonez/Sky-Phonez eBay Store Scammed Me out of My Steam Deck OLED

I bought a Steam Deck OLED 512Gb back in April from the My-Phonez eBay store but unfortunately had issues arise with the trackpad and haptic feedback late August.

The store required I provide video evidence of this, which I happily did. They then asked me to post the item back to them early September, which I did through AusPost (tracked) and that's where the fun begins.

They informed me they will be refunding me after about two weeks of having the device and have since been giving me the runaround saying random (profanity) like "our warehouse burned down, please be patient".

I have now lodged complaints with the ACCC, OFT & PayPal but I suspect my $996 is gone for good. eBay has been no help as it was outside the 30 days return window for them. Lesson learned, won't be using eBay ever again and will be sticking to trusted big name stores in future.

    • Just did that, was told to call back on Monday as the "right department doesn't work weekends".

    They sent out simcards that have expiry <7 days which wasn't mentioned in their eBay listings.
    They send parcels with insufficient postage too so you the buyer will have to make up the shortfall b4 Auspost will hand you the parcel.

    Did you pay via PayPal? If so put in PayPal claim that gives you 180 days to claim. Make sure to escalate the claim on the first available date

    • Unfortunately I am like a week outside of that because I am an idiot haha.

    Update for anyone following and interested;
    I filed a chargeback through ING, provided them with all tbe evidence and they have sent the request off to the sellers bank. Fingers crossed they dont dispute it and I get my money back.
