Saw the banner on my Meta Horizon app. Fall Frights Sale- Get thrills, chills and scary good deals of up to 50% off. Ends Nov 3. Log in to see deals. Examples:

  • Pistol Whip $28.99 (-38%)
  • Resident Evil 4 $31.99 (-36%)
  • Superhot VR $22.99 (-41%)
  • PowerBeats VR $20.99 (-41%)
  • Brink Traveler $11.99 (-47%)
  • Red Matter 2 $26.99 (-42%)
  • The Room VR $22.99
  • Assassin's Creed Nexus $35.99 (-39%).
  • Synth Riders $22.99 (-41%)
  • Cubism $6.99 (-53%)
  • Puzzling Places $14.99 (-35%)

I don't actually have these games, except for Puzzling Places (excellent), but they seem highly rated. Sales don't seem very common and even in the Black Friday Cyber Monday deals last year (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/813821), the more popular games are only up to 40% off.
Some game prices and available titles seem to vary depending on your account.

Once you spend a certain amount they hide sale prices from you, everything is always rrp even several year old games, dirty company!

I know for a fact this happens, but not sure how. I abused referrals back in the day, and got some $800AUD in credits at one point. I've bought a lot of super sales and probably have a library about 140 apps deep and worth over $5000 now (using about $600 spend.)
They had banned me from seeing/using/redeeming referrals for about 12 months, quoting I'd done nothing wrong, some users are in test groups etc. it will self resolve, giving no ETA. Seems that 'ban' had been lifted now. But I've always had access to their seasonal sales - I know that some people don't ever get them.
Meta support are quite hopeless getting those issues sorted, and very unapologetic, but seem great on all other accounts. Hit them up on WhatsApp and they're usually pretty good, quick, responsive, and giving store credits for your time when you have any issues - except access to sale. It's very hidden, weird, and seemingly… not spoken about.

I dont think this is the case, it doesnt matter what you spend it just happens to some accounts. Few people on reddit who are first time users have been affected, ive spent quite alot since 2020 and still see sale prices.

Not ruling out that they're dodgy, just that i think both people who spend, or dont are affected.

    • I'm one of the lucky ones that can't access sales. Since april this year not one sale i've been able to buy something at a discounted price. It's beyond dirty tactics for sure. Every sale i get on to chat support and i've had a ticket since april and they refuse to help. Occasionally they'd give me credit here and there to shut me up but now they don't bother anymore. Now it's "the sale is for random people and i'm not lucky enough to be selected this time" So F off. Probably 10 sales at least since april and i haven't had access to one. Not random!

There's a few hidden sales as well. Best to go to store and set filter type to sale. Example:

Avicii invector: Encore (some 80-90% off - $1.99)

Assassins Creed is decent (8/10-ish). Pistol Whip, Red Matter 2 (I've got it, know it's good, but haven't had time to, beat #1), and Synth Riders; are also, good games.

  • I only and only bought 2-3 games that I really like on quest, other than this I never pay a single penny for other games and I have around 200 in my library. Very overpriced for what you get IMO

I agree they're expensive. The free Quest+ trial is good though. Found a few I really liked and others that gave me motion sickness. Once the trial is over though, there's no choice but to rely on their refund system to try out new games?
