Gold Coast Airport Parking

Hi Bargainers!!

We live in Brissy, however, in Nov we're flying out of Gold Coast Airport, traveling with a 4 year old so need to keep that in mind.

Looking for some ideas on how to reduce the parking, if someone knows or has a code for https://prebook.goldcoastairport.com.au/en/ it would be appreciated! If not any ideas on where I can park close to the airport that has unlimited? At the moment its coming out to approx $190 and I would prefer if I can spend that at the destination.

Thanks!

Don't you guys get $0.50 public transport fares? - would be an adventure for the 4-year-old too. Or how about an uber/taxi to the airport?

    • Its going to be around 3 hours all up and unfortunately the Airport lines are privatized apparently, so they are discounted.

The line to the GC airport isn’t privatised because there isn’t one. You can get a 50c bus to and from the airport. You could look up streets near bus stops with a direct route and do that, obviously at your own risk . I live 20mins from the GC airport near a bus stop and still park there if travelling with a child for convenience sake. I’d likely go the bus if travelling alone, which I have done without incident. I’m not aware of any discounts like we sometimes get for Brisbane airport. There are different tiers of parking at GC airport, so make sure you choose the budget one, which BTW is a bit of a walk. One of us usually drops the family and luggage at the terminal and goes and parks the car and walks back.

    • They're done unfortunately.

Due to the impact of Covid-19 Ezyparking will be closing from 26 July 2021

      We apologise for the inconvenience.

      Thank you,

  • In January this year I spent a couple of hours trying to research on cheaper alternatives, am afraid there were none and ended up using the cheapest option at the GC airport

  • Certainly not a good idea to park in the mean streets of Bilinga for 12 days. Parkhound is even dearer than OOL. One day car rental is currently pricey. The low-cost time-intensive hack is public transport, 1hr 10min on the train, 37 min on bus Route 670 then a 671m walk, $3.00 return journey for your party of three. If you decide to drive make sure you allow plenty of time, the M1 can become a carpark at any time of the day or night.

  • My two cent (Lived in GC for seven years).

Could you rent a car in Brisbane and return it in Gold Coast? Try East Coast rental, Avis Budget etc. They are close to the Airport and have bus.

Just take the train and don't tap on, free trip.

    • Instead of forking out 50c per person, roll the dice on a $322 fare evasion fine?

      • Apparently it's not 50c on the airport line according to someone above, but I was joking. I just park at the airport, I don't want the hassle of mucking around. Also apparently it doesn't even make it to gold coast airport yet, shows how much I know about it.

        • Same here, but due to limited parking the rates are now higher than BNE and they never discount. I still choose OOL if the flight schedules suit me better. Only the Airtrain to BNE is privatised.

          • @sumyungguy: I normally choose BNE due to gold coast airport being crap, unless that's changed as well.

            • @brendanm: OOL is being renovated to become sleek & modern

              • @sumyungguy: The M1 is being renovated to fix congestion 😂. I'll believe it all when I see it.

                • @brendanm: I don’t expect It will ever be finished while it lowers the government’s unemployment figures

        • Buses go to the terminals again.

        • OP is specifically asking re GC airport. It’s 50c on the bus to GC airport. They are just regular public buses. Quite a good service - right outside the terminal, goes straight up GC Hwy all the way to Broadbeach and Surfers. Might be other routes too. One downside is that it can be quite hard to buy a go card at GC airport for those arriving from interstate. If it’s night time there’s no way to buy one. The drivers don’t mind but technically one could be fined for fare evasion if an inspector came.

  • Might be worth a shot but apex car rentals have a depot at bris airport and GC airport. The depot at GC is right across the rd from the airport.. as another poster suggested maybe a 1 way car rental.

    • No simple hacks; Apex 1-day with zero excess is $124 and pickup only from BNE

  • Train to Varsity lakes then bus 760 to airport.
Train to Helensvale, G-Link to Broadbeach South, Express bus 777 to airport.
Drive and park in unlimited zone, south of lights at Tugun shops, Bus 760 to airport

  • You can park outside my house and catch an uber if you want… DM me for details

    • Legendary if real.

      • The offer’s genuine… We get people parking outside my house all the time, may as well be OP. (Note: on the street, not in my garage or driveway as I have my crap and car in garage + driveway).

I’m about 14km north of the airport and an Uber ranges from $31-$57… so might not be the massive saving OP is after… could also catch the bus from mine to the airport which would make a substantial difference

        • I have friends in Bilinga but like you, shed is full… and I wouldn't ask to park there for 12 days

November and Gold Coast - wise investment IMO to pay the budget undercover parking and have peace of mind for your holiday that you're sheltered from a hail storm.

  • If you have a very early flight Gold Coast Airport Motel is an option.Nights accommodation and parking is $10 or $15 undercover per night.

  • Take the 50c public transport. Your kids will thank you for helping the environment by not driving.
