Underwear for Big Thighs Recommendations

I am looking for some longer trunks/boxer briefs that help stop your thighs rubbing together on hot days which cause chafe. I also am looking for some that are breathable so won't hold the heat. Currently I have Knobbys that are long enough but they aren't very breathable and getting holes from the rubbing. I constantly wear through cheaper pants and they get holes from rubbing together as well.

I see recently the Uniqlo deal for the AIRism Boxer Briefs went alright but some said the ultra seamless trapped heat in, are these my best bet currently?

I have been using these https://www.tradie.com/mens/tradie-bamboo-no-chafe-long-leg.… another design https://www.tradie.com/mens/bamboo-no-chafe-trunk-long-leg-c… for 5+ years and they have been great for what your after.

    • Once you go bamboo, you never go back.

Is your username based on your choice of underpants?

FWIW last year I tried the Tradie stuff due to OzBargain recommendations. The elastic waistbands are not lasting well.

I also am using the Tradie long leg as suggested above, you can get them at Big W. So far I've had no issues and find the elastic/material fine after multiple washes/wears. They also don't ride up like the uniqlo undie might if you're wearing slightly tighter pants which is nice. For around ~$10 a pair (I have access to a staff discount so YMMV) I think it's good value.

    • Got a pair this morning for $16 to try out. Might have to get a job at BigW if you can get them down to $10

that help stop your thighs rubbing together
and getting holes from the rubbing

Thats kinda the name of the game if your thighs rub together.

RIP jeans, shorts, underwear, not too much you can do, the joys of friction :(

Some will last better than others, but the end game will be holes.

I have had these for years and they last quite some time before wearing through.

Boody. Seam-free Mid-length Boxer Briefs. Made from bamboo, perfect length to stop chafe, comfy and breathable. They have a couple of big sales a year, so stock up on them then.

  • When I go hiking I normally take skins or similar which are great. Does everyone recommending the Tradie bamboo anti chafe do a lot of hiking and find them usable?

I'm a fan of step one

The missus bought me some Step One products. Probably at an inflated price - smh. But they have been pretty good. I'd let her buy them again if she finds a deal on here for them.

  • There was a deal posted for these some time ago https://debriefs.com.au/collections/mens-underwear . I found with Bobby's and step one they roll up but these do not. I
I have had zero holes from rubbing and still using my og pairs that I bought a couple of years ago. Highly recommend and cant fault them.

And love they have an opening when you need to use the bathroom and not having to pull your boxers down and stretching the waistband.

    • For some reason my work blocks that website. Interesting.

Probably because they talk about how they are made from wood sources in Austria

i believe you are after this

    • Risky click of the day. It was worth it.

  • I think we need some photos of these thighs if we are going to help you out 🤔

PM knobbs for OnlyFans link it might just pay for his new undies

      • Might need to, some expensive options here

    • Come round to the gym for a leg day

  • try the anko ones from kmart, i use the 4xl, no worries

  • I've settled on Tradie and Bonds Chafe Off trunks to be the best affordable no chafe options.

  • Bike pants? That’s what ladies use for similar purposes. I just wear the Kmart cotton ones under dresses not for chafing, but for QLD sweaty weather, just started again now the humidity is back. Can you just wear men’s bike pants (not sure how common these are)

Like this kind of thing https://www.bigw.com.au/product/circuit-men-s-active-tight-s…

Yeah I wear skins or bike pants or whatever you want to call it when going in hikes but I don't want to put on a pair one my briefs everyday. I was hoping for briefs that do both jobs, seems like a lot of people are recommending the tradie ones. So might give them a go.

      • Yeah they look decent and bamboo too so not so sweaty.

if your a big bloke, forget step ones, rubbish, rubbed thru within a couple weeks… Underarmour performance tech. thank me later

    • Have you tried the tradie ones?

      • i have, didnt rate them tbh

Used to have this issue. There was nothing that lasted.

Gastric Sleeve surgery fixed it. Lost weight and the thighs stopped rubbing. Also not being able to eat a lot helps with the cost of living crisis.

Congrats on your weight loss. I'm not exactly in the same position as it's muscle on my thighs not fat though. If I were to stop gyming and get smaller it would work though. Just gym is such a great mental asset for me as well.

Can I state the obvious? The real solution has nothing to do with undies. It is the solution to almost all health problems in Australia, stop eating shit!

    • +3

Thanks for assuming I'm fat and eat shit. Quite the opposite actually, but I'll leave you to throw your unwanted opinions out when I was just asking for clothing recommendations

      • -1

It was a good guess, I didn't know you had big bones.

        • More assumptions eh?

    • Big thighs can be muscular.

  • What’s your leg press at?

  • Bamboozld XXL trunks

  • Need an ms paint diagram to get the picture
