Come across a few trade-in bonus promo codes ($100-$200) that can be used on Samsung EPP stores. Please note the code can only be used if trading in old device.

If it doesn't work or already used by other people already, please don't blame me. Just thought I share them.

So S24 FE 128GB is $879.20 - $50 (bonus trade-in on website) - $200 (bonus trade in coupon) - $X (trade-in device value) = $ 629.20

The codes are expired. Contact Samsung for your own code.

why do phone manufacturers even sell 128gb phones. it's pointless.

    • +4

No its not. It provides a lower entry point $ wise for people and in the era of cloud storage, a lot of people are just fine with 128GB. I have over 300GB of photos, videos, docs, emails etc all in Google Photos, Drive and Gmail.

Do you really need to everything on device? No. In fact, its probably stupid to rely on keeping them on device because if you then lose the phone, goodbye files. If they're then backed up anyway and its not in fact goodbye files, then do you really need them stored on device?

Truth to the fact when you said alot of people will be fine with 128gb.
For me personally, it is simply greed tactics for Samsung to remove cheap storage options for the sake of profit.
Why cant flagship have the option to include removable storage? Just to squeeze more $$$ as many people are forced to pay more if they choose to film/edit videos for any extended amount of time. Try to film 4k in 60fps with high bitrate, see how fast storage gets used up. Now, if you are on a 2 week holiday overseas, good luck on 128gb.
The SE range has been dead to me since S20.
        /end rant

        • In the early 20th century, several light bulb manufacturers (like Philips, General Electric, and Osram) formed a cartel to limit the lifespan of incandescent light bulbs to around 1,000 hours, which forced consumers to buy more bulbs. The idea was to increase sales by ensuring bulbs burned out faster. So, while the invention of long-lasting bulbs was possible, companies limited bulb lifespans deliberately for profit.

            @pikachupw: Hyperbole aside.

I think the fact that Samsung now offers 5year updates, having just 128gb is going to feel shitty when keeping a phone longer. Especially as updates get bigger and more things become (forcibly) digitised like banks so you need more apps.

Phone also get slower as you approach 25% storage used. So realistically a 128gb phone only has 70-80gb as the system files already takes up 16gb on boot up and growing.

Cloud is an ok solution but it seems odd to ask someone to be chained to another subscription when they are buying a $600 budget phone. Let alone an appropriate data plan that needs to sustain this.

        • Look, whilst I agree philosophically with your outlook - we're definitely getting at least a little bit screwed by these guys - the removable storage options now are actually great: Plug in a USB-C SSD in there!

micro sd cards are too slow and too expensive to record the 8k video onto, and they're notoroiously unreliable.

Plug in an NVME ssd drive into your phone, velcro it to the case or use magsafe and now you have an actual video recording solution.

        • Yeah Apple really made this the norm. In 2022, they released the iPhone 14 series with the iPhone 14 Pro Max 128GB starting at $1899. A year later, the iPhone 15 series launches and the iPhone 15 Pro Max 128GB does not exist. The 'entry' Pro Max model becomes the 256GB model starting at $2199. 1000000% greed tactics

    • so they can sell the 256 gb one for more - ty youtube shorts

    • Yup, the cost difference from 128-256 flash memory is negligible. Adding an expandable sd slot is even cheaper but they won't do it because they are c**ts.

  • can we still trade in broken headphone ?

    • not anymore

  • My wife's phone has a cracked screen which makes it ineligible. Whats the charge for not sending the phone in?

    • $30 for cheaper items and I think about 50 (could be a different limit) it's $60. SO if you trade in a $1 item, you ll be charged 30

  • I want this but need to feed my kids. Sorry

    • +3

They could use the phone, make reels and feed themselves.

  • Codes are used/gone.

    • You can ask from samsung chat.

  • Yes they are always more than happy to share.

I juat tried it. They said you only get that code if after youndo a trade in.

      • I'm keen to pull the trigger on this if I can figure out how to get a code as well…

Update: I messaged Samsung chat and was advised:
"For the Galaxy S24 FE, we used to have $200 Trade in Voucher code, unfortunately, it was available until late October 9, and was revert to $100 value from (October 10 to November 7). Only Applicable on regular online store and selected EPP portal."

I requested a $100 voucher and they were able to provide that instead.

  • Nah i wasted 2 hours trying to get one from them. Pity.

  • News! Tried again, asked for a $100 code. Sent me one straight away. Turns out it was a $200 one. Win. Good luck all.

    • How did you contact them for this?
