I’m in charge of finding a coffee pod machine for an office of 5 people.
Don’t want rubbish but need something under say …$200.
What can you recommend?

Obviously you can get a variety of machines; as said Nespresso is the default and offers the widest range of pods. It is a bit more expensive than alternatives (eg Aldi). L'OR is having a sale at the moment on one of their machines if a few $$ is important
I think you should pick 3 options eg cheap, (aldi, if you can find one) mid priced/Nespresso clone eg De'Longhi) and Nespresso and put it to the office. Then people can own the choice and not blame you.
The benefit of Nepresso is that because its the default you can always find pods/clone pods and parts etc. Think about ease of ordering (dont want to have to send someone to Aldi to buy pods if Aldi is 15km away), cleaning. Do you need hot milk etc
FWIW almost every large business runs Nespresso in their meeting rooms because it works. However they arent so much focused on price as on making sure it works with minimal fuss
Machine is cheap, pods are expensive. 5 people, how many cups a day?
Get a decent automatic machine. We used to go through 4-6 pods a day in our family and recently bought the Jura ENA8 and with the better tasting coffee we’re using about 7-8 cups a day now.
Tiny cost if the pods are seen as a special perk of working there and helps retain an employee for even a little longer. I remember being in an office and they had only international roast instant coffee, I was told it's to stop people from just stealing it. If people start stealing pocketfuls or boxes of pods it might get messy. Employees could maybe buy their own pods, or pods rationed out by op acting as Pod Master. Or some kind of time-delay pod dispensing machine.
The overthinking is strong with this one…haha.

Your welcome.
You can even use the extra money left over to buy a hand held milk frother.
Edit: or pay the extra 90 bucks for the Nespresso one.
You can (arguably) get a passable espresso shot from a Nespresso capsule but you need something like a Breville Creatista Plus/Pro or The Morning Machine. But under $200? Nothing but rubbish I'm afraid.
The standard Nespresso machine is probably fine.
