I Need Help to Decide - Bissel CrossWave OmniForce™ Edge or Dyson Gen5detect

I Need Help to Decide - Bissel CrossWave OmniForce™ Edge or Dyson Gen5detect.

If I pick the Dyson we still have to use a bucket and a mop but Bissel will make life easier (I guess). I love Dyson but find that they are expensive, but customer service is excellent. We have vinyl sheet flooring and tiles. A few rugs.

I have been looking online (YouTube etc etc) but find that most reviews are probably paid reviews…OzBargain people are usually very honest when they comment and make suggestions. Black Friday next month.

If you are using Gn5detect, what is good and what is bad about it? If you are using Bissel CrossWave OmniForce™ Edge, what is good and what is bad about it?

  • I'm not a fan of dyson and think generally speaking they're hugely overpriced for their performance but I bought a gen5detect recently. The LCD screen is a gimmick but the illumination feature that I thought was also a gimmick is actually great. I have hardwood floors and it really does highlight what you're missing.

  • Currently I am in favour of gen5detect (waiting for black friday sales).

My main concern with a wet and dry mop is that it will eventually smell…. Please correct me if I am wrong.

  • +1

I'm in a similar boat. Rather than going all in on the Dyson I'm thinking I'll go for the Shark Stratos https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/shark-stratos-cordless-pe… - and then use the extra money on a proper hard floor cleaner or even a deep carpet cleaner.

There doesn't seem to be one tool that can do it all. And from what I can tell teh gen5detect isn't worth 3X the price of the Shark Stratos
