Been waiting for a better cashback deal all month and now I think I’ve failed.

Why is boost getting so expensive? I remembered it was $150 when I first joined boost for the 12 month subscription.

      Telstra getting greedy
Using this to push their own plans higher
      Fake inflation

    • I've been asking myself the same question.
I managed to secure a discounted $230 one for a port-out..port-in recharge early next year but I'll be looking for an alternative to Boost in 2026 as I'm guessing it will get more expensive then too.

In 2024, Telstra reported a half-year net profit after tax (NPAT) of $1 billion, reflecting an 11.5% increase compared to the previous year.

Like the banks and Colesworth they are just being greedy, or should I say, their shareholders want bigger returns.

  • What is the simcard expiry for this?

    • According to Topcashback, the sim must be activated within 30 days of purchase.

Can anyone refer me to topcashback?

  • technical issue still on going, I can't place an order😅

  • WARNING: Boost has issues activating/porting a sim through its website
it takes you till the end and says its has a system error, you might be without a service for a few days

  • You need luck to activate the service. If your activation doesn't work, Boost hotline / web chat cannot help and decline refund. They point you to Telstra store but Telstra store would say "we don't support Boost customers". That's their way to make money without providing you any service

  • For anyone having trouble getting activated or porting your number… try doing it through the web chat rather than their activation portal. Couldn't receive SMS verification through portal, but got activated and number ported via the web chat in about 2 hours start to finish

  • Damn missed out on the $140 deal for Boost, anything else or wait it out? Got a month left on my current Kogan one

  • My experience thru webchat after trying the service activation online with errors:

"Hi Mitchell. Thanks for waiting. We
terribly apologise for the system error.
The number registered provide a new
number instead of your existing one

We're really sorry about it, Is there
a chance that you can have a spare
SIM or purchase at least $2 SIM,
We will activate it for you and your
existing number then we will add extra
data than your current plan for the
    compensation and the inconvenience
    that this caused you.

    Let us know your thoughts.

    Thank you"

  • Am I missing something…. a cew complaonts about it not beng a good deal, this seems like a pretty good deal, even when compared to the other "cheaper" sim plans. This is on the full Telstra 5G network and $230 after cashback. It works out to under $20pm.

  • Would there be much difference to 4G coverage in regional areas with Boost versus companies like Aldi that use the wholesale network? My phone isn’t 5G compatible

  • Link makes no mention of $40 now?
