[Solved-Update] Problem of Bambu Lab False Discounting

Hi guys, first time posting on OzBargain please be nice.

I wanted to share my recent experience with Bambu Lab, regarding their possible false discount for Black Friday. A few days ago, I purchased two complete hotend from their official website for $35 each and soon I saw their Black Friday promotion so I cancelled my order, but when I went to purchase the hotend again with the Black Friday promotion I found out they have increased their price from $35 each to $57 each and offering 15% discount for purchasing two hotend and 25% off for 3 hotend.

So I called their customer service and they said they couldn't do anything about the price. In this case I believe they are doing a false discounting for the Black Friday sale, not sure if other product having the same situation but at least for me that is a false discount.

Should I report this to the authorities to let them know?

Here is the screenshot for my order that is been cancelled and the screenshot of the price now:

Update!!!

A few hours after I made the post, they contacted me via email, admitting it was their mistake in entering the wrong price. They said they gonna provided me with a discount code to match the price of my previous order. About 2 hours ago i have received a $22 discount code. Its not the best experience i had with online shopping, but i am impressed with their quick response and customer service after all.

A hotend in the hand is worth two in the bush.

    A) no one cares about this sort of thing, it happens all the time

    B) I'm 99% sure that bambu doesn't have an Australian registered entity, so you have no one to complain to even if you wanted to.

so you have no one to complain to even if you wanted to.

Au contraire, there is always OzBargain. The official help desk of the universe.

i mean its better to speak up, even know i have no one to complain, but i can still speak up on ozbargain to share the experience, maybe they will see the post and give me discount, who knows

They won't. Should have kept your original order instead of getting randomly excited.

who knows they will change the price when the black friday promotion hits. if i knew they will change the price, i will not cancel my first order

          • +2

@twdjlzl: That's why you don't cancel it until you know.

As a wise man once said "A hotend in the hand is worth two in the bush".

@brendanm: Well the reason why i cancel the first order is because when i talk to them on live chat they said if i return the order after reveive it, i have to cover the postage cost, thats why i cancel the order and plan to order a few days later with black friday promotion.

              • @twdjlzl: How'd that work out for you?

                • @brendanm: so if i receive the package and return to them to get refund that will cost me somewhere around $10 but if i cancel the order and re-order with the black friday promotion that will be 15% of with 2 hotends which in then end instead of $70 that i paid for, the final price will be around $60 which at the time i can just canceled my order and get $10 off a few days later so why not. However i did not expect them to change the price later.

                  • @twdjlzl: So you've learn a valuable lesson about trusting sellers, especially overseas sellers.

    • they reached out to me a few hour after i made this post, will to price match my last order, not bad experence after all

  • Sounds like the previous deal was better than the black friday one and you screwed yourself.

Why didn't you check the price before cancelling your order?

    • Cause i talked to them on live chat if i return the order i have to cover the postage cost but if i cancel the order and re-order the same product with black friday promotion i will get $10 off. And most importantly who knows they will change the price when the black friday promotion hit, when i cancel the price it was $35 and few days later it becomes $57 each.

  • Definitely report to authorities.

Dodgy AF, this is why I do not buy anything impulsively on Black Friday, cyber Monday or Prime days as 9 times out of 10 it’s an inflated RRP or false discount.

Only buy things you can easily track the price of before and after i.e TV, laptops, cameras/video doorbells or fish tanks

Wait to when you shop for groceries.

  • bought 8kg of filament yesterday. Don't really care if it's a couple bucks. How long is the shipping normally?

  • $57 (or $56.99) is the normal non discounted price. Bambu have regular discounts on different ranges every week.
Maybe you should have checked what discount was already applied to your ordr before cancelling it!

    • actuall its their fault to input the wrong price, however they reached out to me a few hour after i made this post, offer a discount code to price match my last order, not bad experence after all
