Considering I paid ~$1.5k with Malaysia Airlines Perth-Tokyo for similar dates in January, those are some good prices.

Can't compare with peak period in school holidays

I love Fukuoka, such a great city.

    • How is it great? Esp compared to other Japanese cities?

      • I found it much more relaxed and livable.

    • Great to know.

      What did you particularly enjoy?

  • The fares are OK - if you want to sit on your arse in Singapore for almost 5 hours…

    • +7

I'd rather spend five hours at Changi than say an Australian airport. Some European airports are pretty terrible too.

    • +2

Tons to do in Changi. If you've got a particularly long layover then just jump on the MRT and be in the city in 30 minutes

      • +2

I reckon one can easily spend 10 hours in there before they got bored. Like you said with a layover that long, get out, explore and come back.

  • I need some more of those free Japan return tickets, thanks. Although they weren't direct.. still!

  • +1

Fukuoka is amazing and a good gateway to Kyushu. I recommend going to Beppu and booking a really nice Ryokan or resort with a private onsen. It's really peaceful exploring the streets filled with stream in the evening.

Infact the whole island has plenty of good onsen towns and hotspots dotted all around.

I'm down to Fuk for the first time next month. Pretty excited.

Has anyone done Fukuoka to Busan on the JR Beetle Ferry? Any reviews or comments?

    • Was meant to go from Busan to Fukuoka - But they cancelled sailings until November at the earliest - Serious safety concerns that the management was covering up

Got stuck at short notice trying to find a flight from Seoul to Fukuoka on the weekend which happened to be a major South Korean Holiday - was not fun

      • oh no, thanks for sharing which the socials didn't show

  • Nice deals , it's a lot cheaper than what i paid to go to Tokyo earlier this year..
Any deals coming up for USA or Canada ? Every deal these days are mainly for asian destinations.

  • I find these websites totally unusable
They are probably just dropping cookies for when you actually book via an airline website

  • These dates… visit Japan for about a month to get cheaper flights?

  • FUK… Still the best airport code in the world. Many moons ago in my first trip to Fukuoka… I was sitting on the train and had a little giggle at the bag tags of those coming from the airport. Evidentally, I am a child.

  • Definitely gonna use this to hop over by ferry to South Korea as well, thanks!

  • 24hr lay over times both ways + $197 extra for baggage lol.. = $900ish just not worth.

ANA direct + free domestic return flight for $980ish all the way!!

    • ANA with free domestic? From which state? I have seen adverts for JAL with free domestic though.

      • I'm from WA but yeah ANA have been doing it since opening direct flights up from Perth can't say I've checked other states. When booking ensure you select Multicity (it's automatically waived) - It cannot be added after the initial booking etc. It literally lets you go to places as far as Okinawa and back for free! 👀
