  • try getting a used one off gumtree. i bought a really nice second hand one for $400
    looks new
    works perefectly

  • This one has free delivery as far as i can tell. http://www.jbhifihome.com.au/222L-TOP-MOUNT-FRIDEFREEZER.asp…

There is cheaper fridge only ones, but i just assumed you would need freezer space.

  • appliancesonline.com.au is pretty cheap too.

  • I second gumtree. Got a 380 litre upright Westinghouse frost free freezer for $260 delivered. When I checked the serial number with the manufacturer it turned out the freezer was only 2 years old (the guy told me it was his mate's and he thought it was about 5 Years old). The same model was still selling for $1000+ at The Good Guys. It was a little dirty and needed a clean, but that was all. I've had it for 6 months now. It works like a dream!

  • yeah i'll need a fridge with a freezer section.

  • Costco. Lifetime guarantee and good prices. Cheap food to in it too.

  • ok thanks. does costco have a website? i'm in victoria.

    • Costco don't have a website for their Austalian stores. They're located in Docklands and you park underneath and it's two hours free parking.

It costs $60 to join but everything is good quality and you save a fair bit on price. If you keep your membership current and whatever you buy breaks down ever, you can return it.

I buy everything there so if something carks it, I can return it.

If you join and find it's not for you, they refund your membership in full, no questions asked anytime before it expires.

      • Ringwood costco is being built at the moment. Mid 2013. Too long to wait for a fridge, but just a heads up!

        Where in Vic are you?

Check out masters online store too.

  • I would look at:
    - appliancesonline.com.au to find candidates
    - productreview.com.au to check for feedback on models from previous purchasers
    - secondsworld.com.au and getprice.com.au for ball park pricing of a particular model

Because I am an NRMA member, I would then call their AdvantageShopper service and ask them to find the best price on the model that I was interested in.
