I just ordered one for my Outlander, and I expect the quality to be similar to the boot liner that I am currently using from X-Car.
I found the price to be the same on their Amazon AU store as well

They are installed inside the vehicle. They have magnets on the shades so most cars you can just put them in the window and they're good to go. Takes 2 seconds to install. If you're worried about kids pulling them out of the window, they also come with clips and double sided tape to hold them in.
Can you wind down the windows ? If it is magnet holding them in place, does it mean it is like a film which you can apply or take down anytime ? Sorry for asking maybe a stupid question as I really don't know how these work.
They magnetise on the window frame if your window frame is metal (otherwise you need metal clips). Yes you can wind them down and but not at high speed with open windows as they will be blown away. Slightly open might be ok.
Yep. They work fine with the windows down but it depends on your car. If you have good metal frames then it holds strong. I do 110 with the windows down without issue with just the magnets. But you can also use the clips if the magnetic connection isn't good enough.
The Amazon store reviews are helpful for future buyers. It looks like the 2018-2025 Hyundai i30 boot liners are a little too small and don't reach the corners. Best to check before buying.
I bought Kia Sportage (NQ5) and the sizing on the rear doors were definitely a little off. Had to use the clips to secure the screen.
Unfortunately I didn't have any reviews to go by at the time :(((
They have an ebay store named "crazyvictor". Often cheaper there. If you're a member there's sales on regularly there with ebay discount codes.
Thanks, they're cheaper there.
Are the shade surrounds orange like in the pictures??? Why aren't they black?
I don't think they're orange. I think the orange colour is there to specify that they're magnetic. Best to ask x-car.
Taken a punt as logic would surely make them black.
@Thiefsie: They're black.
I bought these shortly after buying my new Tucson about 6 months back. Excellent quality. Bought another set for the wife's MG recently. Best sun shades I've ever owned.
Sun shades for Mazda MX-30, but not the MX-5?
MX-5 doesn't have rear door windows and the back window is moving (either soft top or hard top) so there is a risk it falls off in the cavity for roof storage.
I don't know who needs to hear this but you can't use these on front driver or front passenger windows. I was in Sydney recently and saw a silly amount of cars with window socks on the drivers side front window of their car.
Totally agree, but front window shades for when you are parked in the sun are a thing.
Ah i'm with you now, removable one for the windscreen. If you've got an NC and you find a good one, let me know
Some items would be $10-20 cheaper in Temu.
Or aliexpress. Exact same items for the most part.
Not as good as Snap Shades. I scored snap shades for my vehicles cheaper on Amazon and Ebay sold by snap shades as well.
Add extra and get the snap shades 💪🏼
I see most cars on the road have a window tint film on the glass. Would these magnetised shades just be a cheaper and do-it-yourself solution in comparison?
Likely yes, but also more opaque (better shading).
Factory tinting is usually excellent however.
The post made me check them out on eBay, the sunshade for my car is $32.95 on the X-Car website, but only $24.95 without discount on eBay.
it gets weirder.. the bundle of the car mats is more expensive then buying them separately on ebay.
But yeah all the ebay prices are much lower.. thanks mate saved me some money
Any use their Anti shock pads? on sale for <$10 - not sure exactly they are supposed to do? Reduce noise when you shut the door??
Got mine today (from eBay). Most fit well, but a pair (main rear windows) are definitely about 15mm too short so have a sizable gap. Seems quite a margin of error, especially considering the others are pretty good fits - I think I'll see what the seller will say one I contact them.
I am interested but my car already has weather shields so looks like can't apply theirs as their photos show you need to install a visor to the windows ?? Anyone used their car shades before can shed a light about how they are applied ??? They should include video installation instructions in their site to boost confidence of potential customers.
