For those unfamiliar with HelloFresh's Christmas Boxes, it's a once off box (not subscription) that they do at Xmas. We've done them for the last 4-5 years when we host our family for xmas lunch and they definitely feed the amount of people they say on the box, we're always stuffed (as you should be for xmas lunch or dinner!).

Family always comments on how good the spread is. Recipe cards help you with what you can prep the day before to save stress on the day. Hellofresh isn't for everyone (if you don't like following recipe cards), but we enjoy these xmas box specials, and for $22/head for xmas lunch, can't really go wrong. Also beats the made rush at the shops, it just gets delivered to your door - only stop you need to make is Dan's and xmas is sorted.

What's in the box?
For details of contents is available here.

When will my box be delivered?
Your Christmas Box will be delivered on Monday 23rd December. We will send you an SMS the day prior to your scheduled delivery to let you know your 1 hour ETA delivery window. If you're already a HelloFresh customer, please note that your Christmas Box is separate to your weekly subscription and the delivery may differ from your usual weekly delivery time.

Do I need to have any ingredients at home?
You'll need some basic pantry items - like olive oil, butter, salt & pepper, balsamic vinegar, white wine vinegar and eggs.

Sorry you felt you had to neg the deal because I shared my opinion on the deal Bruce.
Brief description for you: "Tasty food. In a box".
If you strain your eyes past the first couple of sentences, there is a bold heading which says What's in the box? click here.
My only association with HelloFresh is as a customer for 4-5 years.
      Merry xmas.

    Looks delicious! I so wish I wasn’t a celiac.

Hello fresh do pretty good with this deal and I’ve had this Xmas box once before and it was a good mix, however do not buy it now it’s way to early. Every year I get an email from hello fresh with a discount that increases the closer you get to Christmas. By early December you can usually score 30% off this box.

    • +6

      Obligatory; username checks out?

    • If 30% is the best then it's not worth waiting imo. But if it gets like 40-50% then that's good

      • +5

Their regular weekly subscriptions reach 40-50% regularly, but I haven't got that good of a deal on Xmas boxes before. I checked my emails from the last few years (users may receive different offers):
        - 2023: No offer received
        - 13 Dec 2022: 20% discount
        - 6 Nov 2021: $10 credit
        - 10 2019: $30 discount

Looks like 2024 orders must be placed before 10 December (or when limits are reached).

    • And you could get an even better deal for the Christmas box on boxing day

      • Boxing Day is all about the boxes.

  • It looks really nice. I don’t know what I’ll be doing for Christmas. Can i cancel?

    • +5

Cancel, you only live once. Get this box and eat it at home alone while doing a Star Wars marathon, surrounded by empty beer cans.

      • surrounded by empty beer cans.

Which were from the weeks leading up to Christmas

      • -1

        I feel attacked.

Not a deal for us, when they don't say what cut the beef is you know it's the cheapest.

    Chuck roast, no thanks.

    • +1

Click on the roast; Beef Bolar Blade Roast

      • Jebus, even worse

        • +3

Only if you don’t know how to cook it

            • @stickymoo: Dry brine with salt, white pepper, thyme, rosemary, garlic and onion powders, then slow oven basting with butter (or sous vide with butter), hit it with a blowtorch or sear in a hot pan, rest and carve

              • @linkindan: I don't need to do that with Ribeye.

                • +1

@Jessie Ryder: I’d rather pay half as much and put a small amount of effort in to get something that tastes better than overrated ribeye

  • Does ozb have a place to go to get the good discounts/freebies on the normal boxes

    • The referral system

    • referral system gives you $125, which is a free box

Ill never deal with these jokers again

        I am the batman

I don’t want soup for Christmas

    • Likewise. Just tried them recently following a Baby Expo. All the touted reasons for joining turned out to be bullshit.

  • "We've done them for the last 4-5 years when we host our family for xmas lunch and they definitely feed the amount of people they say on the box, we're always stuffed (as you should be for xmas lunch or dinner!)."

Honest question: Why do we do this? It's a holdover from old times in Europe where it's winter and people often ate poorly all year, and could afford to have one big feast and enjoy quality food. We've got the opposite problem now where most people eat far too much all year, and then we're expected to stuff ourselves full of food even harder on one day. Why?

    • +5

      Because it’s fun

    • +1

Yeah fair question. I’d say because we’ve always done it? And it’s fun to have lots of nice food, drinks and laughs?
