70

25% off RRP of a limited edition Seiko, 1000 pieces - so actually limited? IMO last year's SRPK50J was much better looking, but beggars can't be choosers.

Following the successful collaboration with the award-winning Australian whisky distillery, LARK, Seiko Australia is proud to announce its second Presage Cocktail Time Australasian Limited Edition SRPL20J, inspired by the bespoke cocktail Ichigo Ichie created by LARK Distillery.

Limited to 1,000 pieces, this latest timepiece pays tribute to the Japanese philosophy of Ichigo Ichie the art of making the most of every moment. This philosophy resonates deeply with the meticulous craftsmanship of Seiko watches and the artisanal spirit of LARK whiskies, brought together in this exciting collaboration.

The striking rose gold gradient tones of the watch are paired with timepieces rose gold hands, hour markers, and case, while the dial is enriched with a textured sunray engraving.

Driven by the Calibre 4R35 movement, the watch is paired with a black leather strap, elegantly finished with a rose gold-coloured folding clasp, offering a sophisticated contrast that enhances its versatility. The exhibition case back of the timepiece is marked with the words Limited Edition and the serial number, allowing the wearer to view the automatic mechanical movement in action.

Each limited-edition watch comes with a special presentation dark timber box, making it a perfect addition to any watch collection.

Lark 1 had an interesting dial, almost GS-like.

Lark 2 looks like a regular rose gold cocktail time with a sunburst dial and nothing interesting about it at all design wise.

I got the first one because it was proper LE, much like their older LE whiskies from ~2010-2015. This second one is a total cash grab; overpriced, and boring low ABV shit, like their new LE whiskies (after Bill Lark sold out) which are total cash grabs imo. If you want a nice single cask Lark, get a Killara.

$700 and LE and still hardlex

i mean… also LE should say 0001/1000 consec. serials etc.

Hardlex is fine. So is domed acrylic at much higher price points.

Individually numbered limited edition watches are quite common with "low end" Seikos. Uncommon with microbrands and many other larger watchmakers. GS has a policy of, "you can buy this LE but you can't pick the number" because they don't want to deal with that shit. I personally don't care if it's 1 of 1000, or 1/1000.

For the inevitable sapphire snob, here is something I bought recently which has sapphire and made of actual 18k rose gold.

        • My Starlight has a scratch on the crystal and I have no idea how it got there. Makes me a bit cautious.

SRP852J to be exact. Except for slightly different dial shade they are effectively identical.

Anyway, if the Lark 1 history is any guide, Lark 2 will be discounted more as time goes on.

I bought that one for Mrs C. Looks good in a smaller diameter.

I got the Lark II but at a lower price than this post, with a price match at Watson's in Launceston. (Those who know, know.) I bought it mostly so I can be matchy-matchy with Mrs. C.

yeah the SRPK50J looked so much nicer for the dosh…but i guess this is stilll nice

I wanted to get the SRPK50J but missed that boat. I hope they make another similar version, that was a beauty.

SRPK50J had a beautiful looking dial but that rose gold casing killed it (IMO). This seems to have toned down the rose gold but the dial is super generic looking.

People pay this much for a Seiko with 4R and hardlex?

    • +1

      Yes.

Seiko Australia group had a few people post that these are fading weirdly on the case.

  • Plain looking for a limited edition. Money stay in my purse 👛 😋
