AmEx Platinum Edge to Explorer Upgrade Offers

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with offers to upgrade their Platinum Edge to an Explorer without triggering a credit check?

I know AMEX sometimes sends out upgrade offers, but what is the criteria here?
